Session 79 - Double Down

General Summary

Sasha and Hamilton went to find Dimo in the Market Strip. They spotted Eleanor talking with a few Demons, but chose not to interfere. They eventually found Dimo at his shop near the lighthouse. Sasha demanded answers and, thanks to Hamilton’s unintentionally-intimidating presence, he agreed to talk if they followed him into the lighthouse itself.

Meanwhile, after purchasing a new arm and losing some gold, Finn left Mainfair with Grant on horseback. The two of them rode south for a few hours, until they ran into the Merto Archeaology Dispatch's campsite. Inside one of the tents, Finn found Walter Stanton's diary, which he pocketed before continuing on with Grant.

Their destination turned out to be the Bite, a massive break in Nevurdul's landmass. Grant explained the ship was likely somewhere in here. To help with navigation, he gifted Finn a Gnomish Quiver, which would allow him to use rope arrows on the fly. Finn tried to swing from the cliffside but, in a spectacular display, wound up crashing into the rocks and falling into the water below.

Back with the others, they went up the lighthouse to discover that Dimo had been living in the roof of the structure. Sasha asked for help in defeating Jinskarr. Dimo broke down and told Sasha about his feelings about himself, and after she gave him some reassurance, his tough exterior crumbled away. He agreed to help, but told them he needed to come with so his identity could be confirmed, and they would need a good ship and crew to get them there. With Dimo confirmed for the voyage, Sasha and Hamilton left to head back to the Wreck.

Finn, meanwhile, hopped on a small canoe with Grant to row toward the remains of the Reapers' ship. Coming upon it, Finn found two Demons loading up a small barrel of Revolt they had stashed away, unbeknownst to Jinskarr. Interestingly, neither of the Demons seemed to react to seeing Revolt right before their eyes. Finn and Grant stayed hidden until they left, and got to work exploring the ship.

Finn looked through the captain’s quarters and reminisced. Grant was overjoyed to find the ship could be repaired. Before leaving the quarters, Finn found Captain Grimm's old bicorn hat, and put it on. He asked Grant if the Captain would be okay with what he’s doing, and Grant said yes. With that, Finn and Grant began repairs on the ship.

Sasha and Hamilton ran into Eleanor on their way to the Wreck. She asked how things went, and Hamilton chose to keep his missing fingers a secret for the time being.

At the Wreck, Sasha asked Port if she knew where the members of the Reapers were. Port enthusiastically wrote down the locations of each of the core members of the crew, and encouraged the party to look into it. Sasha, Hamilton, and Eleanor split up to find and recruit each core member back into the Reapers!

Hamilton found Atticus Masterson manning a shop in the Market Strip. He quickly broke down and agreed to help, if it meant doing anything other than reading things for a living.

Sasha found Doctor Oz working at the Morgue, and struggled to convince him to join, as he was so happy about his new job. After mentioning stopping Jinskarr though, the Doctor agreed with gusto.

Returning to the Wreck, Sasha and Hamilton saw Eleanor arrive with Batty Bart in tow. And all of them watched in awe as Captain Finn and Grant emerged from around the corner with the now-fixed Reapers’ ship, ready to set sail!
