Session 76 - Promises

General Summary

Our Misfits sat in the Wreck’s bar, digesting Grant's news. Grant said goodbye, and left to go back to Port's house. In an effort to give Finn some space, Sasha, Hamilton, and Eleanor went upstairs to try out the Wreck’s top-floor casino, only to find it completely abandoned. A note written by a man named Christian was found on a table, explaining that things had been moved to a place called “The Lucky Crown”.
Meanwhile, Finn watched Jinskarr and his men harass Port, until his friends came downstairs to regroup. Finn recognized the note as being written by Forecastle, the head of the Wreck’s casino. The party agreed to take a trip out on the town to find this “Lucky Crown”, leaving Eleanor behind to keep an eye on Port.
After some searching, the Misfits were unable to find the Lucky Crown, but did find a tavern to check out called the Drowning Dolphin. Inside, Hamilton recognized Roxie sitting amongst several other bandits. Finn noticed Hamilton’s gaze, and took that as an opportunity to ask the group for information. Meanwhile, Sasha went up to the bar to get a drink.
At the bar, Sasha met the barkeep, Ned. Initially thinking Sasha was one of “Jinskarr’s girls”, Ned warned Sasha to be careful about messing with Jinskarr. After giving him a couple gold, Ned told Sasha that the Lucky Crown was the only casino left for Mainfair's people, and it was located on an island nearby. He said the island was distinct in that the casino itself had a large, metal crown at its tip.
When Roxie saw Hamilton approach her, her face immediately dropped. Hamilton was quick to make an attempt for information, but was met with an offer by a large Giant named Tyrus: information, in exchange for the Servo. Hamilton, of course, declined, but Tyrus insisted. Things were about to escalate to violence, until Roxie demanded Tyrus stop. He gave Hamilton and Finn one last look before leaving the tavern.
After giving their thanks to Roxie, Hamilton sent Finn to check on Sasha. Hamilton took this opportunity to discuss the recent happenings with Revolt (specifically that they'd discovered who was behind the attack, and that Queen Elysia had been kidnapped). Roxie warned Hamilton to know when to quit, but he shot back that this problem was just as much hers as it was his. Hamilton’s attempts to convince Roxie to help the party were met with two words, before she left: No promises.
While this happened, Sasha told Finn about what she’d learned about the Lucky Crown. Finn was able to pick up a few words from Hamilton and Roxie’s conversation (the word “Queen” and Roxie’s parting words). Worrying for Port’s safety, the party left the Drowning Dolphin to head back to the Wreck.
The party found Eleanor and an exhausted Port leaving the Wreck, and after learning that Forecastle had been brought over to the Lucky Crown for his casino management skills, followed Port to her house.
Port’s home was located in the Boulevard: the nicest area in Mainfair. She brought the party inside, where they found Grant lying on the couch in pajamas. Port encouraged Sasha, Hamilton, and Eleanor to use her sauna, while Finn helped Port with dinner.
While helping with dinner, Port confessed to Finn that she was hoping he and the others would do something about Jinskarr. Finn assured Port that they would help, and she was not only grateful, but proud. Port told Finn that Grant has mentioned searching for the wreckage of the Reapers' ship, and may know something, but has given up trying to resist Jinskarr’s changes these days.
The party had a nice, home-cooked meal with Port and Grant around the dining room table. Dressed in off-white nightgowns, everyone went off to their separate rooms to sleep, but not before Finn approached Hamilton about what he had overheard in the Drowning Dolphin.
In the end, Hamilton continued to keep his secret from Finn, telling him that the “Queen” he mentioned was Lady Margaret, and the “no promises” was to him telling her to stay vigilant. Finn tucked Hamilton into bed and wished him a good night.
After a few hours of sleep, Sasha heard a noise coming from within her room. She shot up to find her window open, but before she could properly assess the situation, a hooded figure dropped from the ceiling onto her. The figure grabbed her shortsword and attempted to rush out the window, but she threw a throwing knife into his shoulder and smacked his head against the windowsill, knocking him out cold.
When he fell, the figure’s hood fell back, revealing him to be Sasha’s youngest brother: Dimo Densharr!
