Samantha Wilcott

"Quote."
— Samantha, at some point
Samantha Wilcott is an elven woman who currently leads Riverbend. She is a stern, focused person who has brought her ideals from The Mainland to Nevurdul. She arrived in Nevurdul as part of the Merto Archeaology Dispatch.

Appearance

Samantha is an Human female with brown hair that extends just beyond her shoulders. Her blue-green eyes are narrow and focused, lending to her serious, no-nonsense nature. She typically wears a small pair of eyeglasses, but has recently foregone wearing them due to the likelihood they may break. Samantha wears a full suit of half-plate armor, apart from the helmet, and isn't often seen without it on.

Personality

Samantha's personality is very structured. Hailing from a place of order, she has adopted a mentality surrounding a similar structure. While somewhat mild-mannered, Samantha is a go-getter. She pushes herself to achieve as much as she can, within the boundaries of the law. She knows what she wants, and is experienced enough to know a way to get it.
However, Samantha's cold demeanor is not all there is to her. Underneath, she is capable of a surprising amount of patience and care, shown through her interactions with Alice Roldwin and Hamilton Caldwell. She wants to please as many people as possible, while still upholding the structure she believes in.

Background

Samantha Wilcott was born in the Mainland. Not much is known of her childhood, but when she was 16, she had been working as an assistant to Merto's archaeology program. It was then that she met Hamilton Caldwell, while transporting him to the site of the expedition.
Several years later, Samantha was chosen among other archaeologists to take part in the Merto Archaeology Dispatch. With her other archaeologists in tow, she sailed to Nevurdul. Samantha spent her time mentoring Alice Roldwin until the attack, after which she and Alice fled with the dispatch's collective funds.
Over the next few weeks, Samantha settled in Riverbend with Alice, where she would slowly rise to a position of power amongst the villagers. After Alice departed with the Misfits, Samantha continued this growth. This resulted in Riverbend becoming more and more of a structured civilization, incorporating laws and even a system to convict criminals, as seen when Amber Nashwood was arrested.
Since then, she has worked tirelessly to build Riverbend up to the point where it has been recognized by Remington Kingdom as one of its major settlements.

Relationships

  • Hamilton Caldwell : Samantha's relationship with Hamilton has been a rocky one. She's been shown to disagree with his methods of research, but tolerates him most of the time. She seems to see him as careless and reckless, but does appear to care for him on some level.
  • Sasha Densharr: Samantha hasn't interacted much with Sasha. The most notable time when the two spoke was when they argued over their respective cultures and methods of civilization. The two clearly aren't fans of one another.
  • Alice Roldwin: Throughout their time together, Samantha seemed to see herself as a mentor to Alice. She was clearly upset when Alice chose to follow Hamilton over her, showing she cares for Alice.
