    A New Adventure Begins
    Expedition

    The current year is 923 HB. It has been 67 years since the death of the last Pirate King, and piracy is on a decline on the Six Seas. Whispers of the Pirate King's treasure still float around taverns, but are increasingly viewed as nothing more than legend or a fairy tale.

  • January 3, 923 HB
    Locke Performs an Assasination in Harpsbilge
    Criminal Activity

    Locke assasinates a high-ranking member of the Harpsbilgian Royal Navy under the orders of Estella Fairford, and steals a mysterious chest for her as well. He is rewarded handsomely for it, however, within a few weeks he gets word that he is being hunted. Fairford quietly is killing everybody involved in the assasination, so Locke grabs a small portion of his wealth and stows away on a ship to The Six Seas.

    Gunther, Locke, and Grov meet in The Drainpipe

    All stowaways from different parts of the world, Grov, Gunther, and Locke meet while placed in debt-slavery on The Drainpipe. The three of them work the kiln in a brickworking plant and room together alongside Fazili, a poorly spoken but good-intentioned Salimstinian boy.

The theft was actually committed by Francisco, Jack of Pirates, whom they were trailing. They are thrown in the prison as pirates.

    Francisco, Jack of Pirates, puts out a call for other pirates to join his fleet, which is set to sail for the Kings' Sea through the northwestern Ancient Sea. The large fleet of upwards of three hundred ships leaves Port Rose on this day, which becomes the catalyst for a number of events which will eventualy bring great change to the Six Seas.

    Grinnin' Lazzo engages in combat with The Driftwood, winning. He then cuts off one finger each from Grov, Laire, and Gunther to settle his grudges with them. He then confiscates the ciphers to keep them from the public.
    The crew is left saddened and angered, and left with a resolve to one day fight Lazzo again and win.

    Harpsbilge (led by Estella Fairford) leads a massive attack on Port Rose, drawing heavy casualties on both sides. The Port is crippled, and the fate of piracy on the seas suddenly becomes uncertain as many pirates lose what they considered to be the safest place on the seas. This leads pirates to begin to scatter across the seas, ending The Golden Age of Piracy and beginning a short but important period known as The Scattering.
    Meanwhile, a group of pirates gains control of the key to Captain Rose's lost treasure.

    Having weakened the port with Operation Heartstopper and several subsequent attacks, The Harpsbilgian Royal Navy, led by Estella Fairford, puts together an overpowering final assault on Port Rose. After a day-long seige, the Harps manage to successfully capture the island, killing the majority of the remaining pirates.

    Beaufort & The Drifters discuss at length the goings on of the sea and the possible scenarios relating to the Pirate King's Treasure. They settle on a three-pronged strategy for reclaiming the Pirate King's Treasure and saving piracy. Locke uses magic, confirming that Pix is probably dead and, in all likelihood, the treasure lies in Thrazmohk's hands. The Drifters also meet Ukhu'tali for the first time. The meeting isn't friendly, but The Shaman Queen promises not to make trouble with The Drifters until at the very least Harpsbilge stops posing such a threat to piracy.

    The Drifters find several new crewmates who are willing to fight Dread Lords with them, including Raxchitnatl, a ferocious halfling, Three-Faced-Treyvaugn, a literally three faced human, Von Hizelshloft, a self proclaimed vampire hunter, and Kiki, a magic-proficient krulker. The Drifters also purchace a few useful magical items and a few upgrades for the ship, enhancing its speed and equipping it with a magical lightning rod to better shield it from storms and electricity.

Locke recieves a threatening message from Iago Parcentĩa, the spymaster, but the occupied armada fails to apprehend The Drifters, who make their way briefly into The Dread Sea before exiting into The Green Sea, and making their way towards The Isles of Plenty.

The Drifters resolve to tread carefully going forward, and keep this information under wraps for now. In brighter news, Beaufort gifts The Drifters his ship, The Peridot Pig.

    The Drifters spend a week of down time in Maple Port. Gunther makes an economic realization that makes him start drinking heavily. Grov trains Ouchie in the ways of monkhood. Laire continues to reason with the Magister. Locke and Ramone preoccupy their days with more mundane tasks and one-on-one conversations. The group then discuss their plans going forward, and settle on proceeding to Meridia's Shackle to stop an escalating situation over there, calling in the aid of Josef for the job.

    The Drifters, dispatching the pin cult in Meridia's Shackle, are summoned by Josef, who has arrived. He pressures them to give him the chest and when they refuse, attacks. They do some significant damage to him, at which he revals that he was testing them, and apologises. He answers some questions for them. Guther spots a masked figure holding what looks to be Meridia, and the group gives chase. They reveal this person's face, and the fact that they are a warlock of Yebenkaherju, but they ultimately get away.

On the way there, they get blown off course and into the Kings' Sea, where none other than Skakarbatrix attacks. Laire manages to charm the dragon and repel it. Upon reaching Gravitas, Grov gains membership on his secone attempt, giving information about The Cradle.

    Escaping Theodore's Isle, the group evades Dragovsky, who has just arrived on the island. Heading to Vishi's keep, The Drifters make a deal to do nothing to harm Timberwelsh in return for the authorities looking the other way. Laire is made to once again swear an oath to his coutry. In return for Meridia, the elves give the group some magical items. Gunther celebrats his 67th birthday. Ramone eats a 4th dimensional fish and temporarily turns 2d as a result.
