Shadow Pines
The biggest collection of pine trees on Ethea is also shrouded in a sort of darkness and danger, with known connections to the shadow worlds. These woods slope downwards causing fog to gather and pool, adding to the overall spooky feeling felt while traveling through them. The trees are much thicker and taller than the other woodland on the continent, easily averaging 200ft in height and thick canopies preventing much if any natural light from penetrating to the forest floor.
Teeming with wildlife and plantlife as you would expect, most creatures tend to stick to the outskirts with hardly anything heading into the center. It is not uncommon for travelers to pass through the woods without incident, however, stories and tales of shadow beasts, ghosts and all kinds of horrors are also commonplace. There is no doubt these woods are a mysterious place and nobody seems to quite know much about the going on inside the pines.
