Tyrata
There are none more versed in the nature of warfare in Healthen than those of the City state of Tyrata. Each young lad and lass is raised to live, eat and breath warfare. Spurred on by the teachings of the great Tyrlus, God of War, Tyranny and Strife, the strongest and wisest hold power here.
While they almost certainly undergo The Triadok, theirs is far more brutal, intense and – unsurprisingly – with a higher body count. Any who can survive such an ordeal, and prove their wisdom in combat along the way, earns the right to be called Leader.

Military
Tyratan youths are raised to live, eat, and breath warfare. Following the teachings of Tyrlus, God of War, Tyranny, and Strife, they are indoctrinated in the methods of war, and basically formed into the perfect soldiers.
At Age 16, they undergo the Telikias, a right of age ritual wherein they must first show a trained Lokhagos (Captain) all that they have learned by that moment. If the Lokhagos approves, they must go out into the wild and kill a wild creature, and bring back it's body. They generally wear a red striation pattern on their face to inform those they encounter that they are undergoing the Telikias.
It is not unheard of for fellow youths to gang up on each other, and there is even apocraphal tales of a youth in Tyratan history bringing back the body of a wolf, two youths that jumped them, and a cutpurse, on a pallet.
If they survive this, which they often do, they are returned and hailed by their peers, and considered to have passed the Telikias, and are drafted into being a Hoplite - A Soldier, and are tattooed (often in red) with the following things:
Their right hand is also covered in black lines, representing the clenched fist of Tyrlus. If they ever reach the rank of Lokhagos, they may have their hand tattooed entirely black, to represent their faith to Tyrata and Tyrlus.
Once they have completed the Telikias, and become a Hoplite, they are expected to serve until they are 28 years old. At this point, they can continue to choose to serve (which many do), or enter into civilian life, retaining their previous rank, and with the understanding that they may be called upon again to serve at any time, so continue training.
During their time serving, they may fill out their tattoos, and many leading commander figures undergo a ritual wherein they cover their tattoos in crushed dye, to make them stand out more.
The leader of Tyrata, Polemarchos Nemesis Ghostborn Rendakis, covers her bare skin in ash from a freshly ended firepit, and her tattoos in crushed blue powder.
