Abbot II

High Priest of the Strand-Bloods Fregotta Blood-Strand (a.k.a. Abbot II)

Abbot II, named Fregotta before ordination, claimed she was from the lineage of Abbot the Usurper. Though there is no direct evidence, she is typically included in Abbot I's family tree, often to reinforce the mythology behind the Isles. She presumed that the historied name carried the image of strength, like the man who had it. She took leadership seriously, traveling with a small group of prisoners she had been sentenced with. As she was granted more visions, they always led her to feats of victory until her power bred its own success.   She named her group of followers the Strand-Blood Cult for the thin, lengthy growths that lined the bodies of their dead, which originated from the roots of the trees and dirt. When an individual died, they would "feed them" to the trees so the strands could grow through their blood and bone. This is often considered aligned with blood magic in the modern era, and it would grant peaceful (though not always useful) visions and sensations. It was also a form of execution she would use, tying individuals to the trees and letting the filaments grow through the individual damned to death.   After her ordination, travel to northern Jurejun, and mass recruitment/destruction of the other cults, she would take a small part of her fleet directly to Steirvem, demanding an audience with the High Priests and Baron. This audience was granted. They were shocked to learn of the semi-stable development of the people of Jurejun, but let the Abbot and her people live. The main reason was to ensure a lack of chaos and attention, so the populace would still presume a sentence to Jurejun meant certain death. The Islands Five ignored her request for assistance in crossing the indomitable Orphi Gap.   Though they laughed at her prophecy, she sailed the seas anyway, eventually finding the continent now known as "Mot D'nir." After spending a decade in the new lands, unable to return home, she grew ties with the Ravahinasi tribe of Naga-Tel. Unfortunately, after many defenses, Ravahinas would fall, Abbot II was burned at the stake, and her few surviving followers were beheaded soon after. Though seen as a cult, the Strand-Bloods were a family, unfortunately dying as one in the end.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

She claimed good health but was not the traditional image of it. Black strands stained her skin and white veinous growths traveled beneath it, all along her body.

Mental characteristics

Mental Trauma

Often failed at protecting her family, with her son and mentor being killed. She eventually became less confident in Chal Churdour and felt ashamed at the destruction of not only her own people but that Naga-Tel, whose leader fell short of their needs (as a result of sharing her own hallucinogens).

Morality & Philosophy

Family first, friends second, duty third.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

She was driven to see out her visions and succeed in stopping a prophecy that foretold destruction. Beyond that, she wished to protect her found family of Strand-Bloods.

Likes & Dislikes

Hated the Snow Rocks   loved her actual family as well as found family, believing it to be more important than the Blood-Strand Prophecy itself.
