The combined forces of the Tara-Jhen and Saltkrigere against Ravahinas. They did not penetrate the walls, but managed to force some of the inhabitants onto the outer battle field. The preparations took the largest amount of time and the assault itself was short-lived, as the Saltkrigere tended to prefer.

After great discussion and the development of new tactics, Gidofem Ettaji presented the necessary requirements for any assault to work. The dynamics of the battlefield would need to change, including the gases lodged in the soils. The plan went as follows:   Set the peat ablaze, temporarily protecting them from any flammability before progressing in a tortoise formation (requiring the use of shields, which until now was uncommon for human forces). They were to progress through the shallow waters as Thiff archers defended them from the high risen trees in the distance. The tortoise formations were to protect 8 individuals carrying a battering ram. After breaching the front gates, the Ravahinas were expected to direct their forces to the gates. Once attention was diverted, ladders were to be brought to the back ends of the fortress, where Saltkrigere soldiers would climb inside.   The assault went as such. The walls were not destroyed and the gates could be easily repaired, but once getting inside they were attacked with tree-sand. Abbot II was spotted yet well defended by the native snakefolk. They utilized their hallucinogens against the invaders. Most that were affected could not escape and were subsequently captured. Many Naga-Tel forces fell and half as many Strand-Bloods. The invading forces at the gate managed to drag several Naga-Tel and capture them. Likewise, several Tara-Jhen and Saltkrigere were taken.   The Gidofem was not pleased with the results and insisted that the Saltkrigere did not hold up their end sufficiently, as the gates were penetrated by the Tara-Jhen, yet almost all of the Saltkrigere were captured. An argument broke out between Hamish and Ettaji, which resulted in the Tara-Jhen leader taking his forces to a nearby Quai territory and disappearing back to Thiff.
