The period in which Strand-Bloods learn how to survive Drulluvatn (called Mot D'nir by the locals) from the Tara-Jhen, as well as cultural exchange between the groups.

After the first day of contact, the Tara-Jhen still refused to cross the small river mouth but did open up to more forms of contact. Eventually realizing that the language barrier (a problem experienced by the Tara-Jhen before, but not the humans) would prove communication across the water too difficult, the lizardfolk sent three of their men swimming across the gap. From there, the groups explained their peaceful intentions as best they could.   The Tara-Jhen shared their language, explained what fauna and flora to avoid or eat, as well as explaining territories of more sapient species to the humans. The Strand-Bloods invited the Tara-Jhen upon their boats, shared spiritually stimulating substances, told them of the Snow-Rock Isles, and then of the prophecy.   The nomadic Tara-Jhen told of a serpent-like people that sounded similar to the serpent of the prophecy. While this enthused the Strand-Bloods, the relations between he Tara-Jhen, snakefolk, and humans would prove more complicated in the future.
