Witchfinder General Kill-Sin Character in Kobos | World Anvil

Witchfinder General Kill-Sin

Sir Kill-Sin Gattacker (a.k.a. Kelly (to her friends, both of them))

"The rise of Kill-Sin Gatticker to Witchfinder General is quite a story, one of which I won't share all of the details. Suffice to say that the previous Witchfinder General died of natural causes at the same time that Kill-Sin finished her Becoming: She brought the head of a vampire spawn back to her village. They sent her to The College of Questions as a candidate, and she passed all Seven Trials and defeated the other candidates in single combat. I guess fate just had her back.   "Whatever you do, don't act like you think she's adorable. She is, don't get me wrong, she looks like a little girl's favorite doll, but don't let her know you think that. She'll stab you in front of your friends."   ~Abide Baht Mig, Caravaneer

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Kill-Sin is small, slight, and would be regarded as "cute" were it not for the dangers involved in calling her as such.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Kill-Sin was born as Kara on a dairy farm in North Wupan, and lived a fairly unremarkable life growing up.      Unbeknownst to her family, a bosetor had opened up nearby, bathing the entire farmhouse in negative energy for her entire gestation. She suppressed the urges of her kind so brutally and effectively that she had no conscious idea that she was a Dhampir.   When she was to come of age, the milkmaid was tasked with her companions to go hunt down some wolves that were killing the herd. The problem they ran into was that it was no wolf-it was a rogue vampire spawn recently released by an archaeologist in service to The White Tower. The undead thing slaughtered the others. She brought the head back to her village and she was bundled off to The College of Questions for recruitment.     Her blood destroyed the vampire on contact, revealing the truth: she was a Dhampir  Along the way, she met an extremely handsome bard who identified himself as Admali Roam. He took down her story with relish. When they parted ways, he patted her on the shoulder and she found herself filled with confidence. She brings up the story often.   When she arrived, she found the place in mourning. The previous Witchfinder General had died and it was time for a new choosing. Without exactly knowing what she was doing and always up for a competition, she entered her name into the roster. She barely accomplished all of the Seven Trials, but accomplish them she did. Invigorated, she threw herself enthusiastically into the duels and overcame all of her fellow challengers. The improbable victory was hailed as a sign from the gods.   Since then, she has done her best to grow into the role, going out on missions personally whenever she can.

Description

The Witchfinder General's uniform is a tacit symbol that one should be intimidated by the small, button-nosed blonde standing before them.

Ideals

Security. Magic is too dangerous to be assigned as an accident of birth.

Bonds

Kill-Sin is sworn to do whatever she can to bring magic to heel.

Flaws

Kill-Sin always opts for the most expedient option. That usually means killing the dangerous warlock before letting them recover spells in the dungeons.
