Uzgilbat

"The Badlands are an unforgiving place. Food is scarce, the greenskins have eaten most of it. You get about halfway across it and you can hear the forges of Shekec. The natives have all gone deaf to it, but it's so loud you can feel it in your chest. And you pass by these shrines to Makub, which just makes your skin crawl. Makub demands sacrifices, you see. Human slaves slit and discarded like coin in a cultish transaction.   "You see how all that the grimlocks built became ruins, too. You see our houses, human houses that were lived in and cared for just decades ago. You see keeps and castle ruins, temples burned down to the lintels. Makes you wonder if our ancestors didn't have to deal with their own greenskin apocalypse.   And honestly, the worst of it are the human towns that still have people in them. There are survivors, you see... eeking out a living in dusty little shackletowns and paying extortion money to the Legions. They can't be evacuated because losing their little serfs would drive the Greenskins to unity and war, and I can't get the Elector Council to care."   ~Margrave Arronax Skinner

Demography and Population

Most of the population of the Badlands is some variety of Greenskin.. Brutally oppressed human serf communities exist at the pleasure of the Hobgoblin Legions.. A few Dwarves have trade deals with individual legions.

Territories

The borders of Uzgilbat extend from the western edge of the The Barrier Mountains, though more than one legion contests the ownership of the mountains themselves. Further west are the Badlands themselves; wide, flat plains of red mud and sparse brown grasses. To the north is the River Gum that feeds the Blasted Forests. The River Gum terminates into Lake Hope, now renamed Zilnach, upon which the Goblin City has been built. The southern tip of the Badlands peninsula is a territory contested by Wupan. The western shore of the peninsula is lined with natural rock fingers that extend into the water, which the greenskins use as docks.

Military

The Badlands are dominated by the Hobgoblin Legions.

Religion

The greenskins worship Makub, a mysterious deity said to look like a tall shadow with the silhouette of a greenskin

Foreign Relations

If the greenskins ever fully united, they'd be at war with the rest of the world.

Agriculture & Industry

Almost all raw material collection is the purview of the Vagun and the Norker. Goblins also make bricks from the red mud of the Badlands for use in construction, and the scattered human settlements eke out an agricultural existence wherein they pay protection tithes to the legions in the form of food and other goods.

Trade & Transport

Only the Vagun venture out with the purpose of trade. Vagun caravans are an uncommon but not always unwelcome sight in other countries.

Infrastructure

The only infrastructure to speak of in Uzgilbat is that created by Lake Hope before the goblins took it. It is in a state of shocking disrepair after the long years of abuse by the Greenskins
