Dwarvenkind

"Dwarves are warriors, dwarves are craftsmen. We are creators and destroyers, we are the favorites of the Demiurge. How do we know this? Just look around. No other race has the blessings visited upon us by the gods. Of all the mortal races, it is us that the gods most see themselves in."   ~Queen Palay Dawi, Thruma of Karakadaw

History

The Dwarves are a stolid folk created by the titans as industrial laborers and miners. They originated on the continent of Quaicuin. The ones that traveled to Seaudyr are descended from a merchant clan known as Clan Dawi, led by three brothers investing in a gnomish expedition to investigate a Flagrans. The massive dwarven city of Karakadaw sits in two hemispheres around this portal, with two mirror hemispheres on the other side.   While descended from merchants and craftsmen, the dwarves of Karakadaw are as martial as any dwarves could claim to be. They have defended their land against foes unknown to humanity, creatures that have no name from below. They were the first to fight the greenskins, and though the humans give them little credit, the war before the greenskins spilled out into Lake Hope was bloody and genocidal.   The original Dawi clan has split into twelve distinct clans: Abor, Bakal, Bin’Kurrak, Dawi, Dokor, Eklok, Faznor, Golgolon, Hazi, Kirlen, Mintor, and Vagarak. The Dawi hold the kingship and the Hazi are exiles.
