Hill Dwarves
"In the rural foothills of the Barrier Mountains , the hill dwarves reside. They live much like halflings did before the Undertown Pact, hollowing out entire hills for their homes and living comfortable, agrarian lives. Hill dwarves tend to be less standoffish towards humans, and many in the Great Grass Oceans even regard themselves dual citizens between Karakadaw and Maecodia. I've even heard tell of a dwarf balatar being trained up.
"Mountain Dwarves regard the hillfolk as rural, soft, and stupid. This is mostly unearned, and while the Mountain Dwarves would never admit it the hill dwarf farms are the only way that they could feed so many. Humans tend to regard the hill dwarves as a curiosity and a resource, as such skilled craftsmen are difficult to come by and the journey to the mountains is difficult for trade. It is much easier and more pleasant to trade with the hill dwarves as middlemen, if somewhat more expensive. I for one highly recommend looking for a dwarf battleaxe if you're so inclined."

Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Hill dwarves tend to be a few inches shorter than Mountain Dwarves, 4’0 to 4’7. Their skin tends to hold more of a tan, sometimes dipping down in shade all the way to leathery brown. Their hair is fairer, from auburn to blonde, and they don’t tend to share their deep cousins’ proclivities for hair dye but some cross cultural bleed does occur.
Courtship Ideals
Hill dwarves celebrate their own version of Holverstadt, though instead of grand stone ballrooms they celebrate it in barns or open-air festivals.
