Session 18 Report

General Summary

Edden 13 Redfall 834EA

As night falls on the party, Suiadan Innion and Harthe settle in their tents to sleep, while Pōtiki occupies themself with voraciously reading the books the party had collected and trying to teach themself to speak, read, and write in Common while also learning much about the history of Iklarel and the gods. While they were supposed to be keeping watch, they found themself distracted with learning and knowledge that they did not notice a group of four giant boar heading toward the camp in search of food until they heard the telltale snorting and grunting noises right behind them. Pō jumped up and called Shu and Harthe awake. They attacked the first boar but was quickly set upon by two of the giant boars. After much combat where Harthe and Pō used some effective spells and Shu turned into a bear and took one down, while another boar got itself tangled up in the tent guyropes and got restrained before being taken down. Having taken down the four giant boars and scouted the area to ensure there was no further danger, Pō and Suiadan headed back to their tents to sleep (Shu first having to set up his tent again). Harthe and Pip settled by the fire and enjoyed the cool night air and sounds of the woodland area. After an uneventful watch, Harthe woke up the sleeping druid and headed back into his tent to sleep again. Suiadan took the time to work on the boar meat and cure it and turn it into a tasty bacon. As the sky started to lighten, he started to forage the surrounding area and found a nest of eggs which he cooked with the bacon and served up for breakfast.

As the party enjoyed the tasty meal and thanked Suiadan for cooking, Pō told the others about all the things they had learnt in the last day. Pō told them that all the gods used to be people and that they didn't think it should be like that. They all packed up the camp and continued back along the road to Maksary. Their journey was uneventful till late afternoon, when Suiadan and Pō heard a low growling in the trees. There was another loud roar which Harthe heard. Shu turned into a black bear, while Harthe sent Pip flying over the trees. Pip was unable to see anything though as the tree canopy was too dense. At that moment, a large brown bear appeared out of the forest. Suiadan dropped out of bear form and instead used a fire spell against the bear, setting part of the forest alight. More bears came out of the forest while the party fought, and it was soon apparent that this was a family of bears, but they took them all down and decided to settle for the evening and night after Suiadan got the fire under control and they had checked that there were no more bears or any other apparent danger. They made camp and took turns taking watch again. Pō was first, and took the time to practice with their sickle and making notes in their notebook. Suiadan was second and Harthe third. Nothing of note happened during their watches and the night passed by uneventfully allowing them a restful night.
