Session 17 Report

General Summary

Edden 13 Redfall 834EA

Pōtiki and Suiadan Innion both woke up after interesting and meaningful dreams. Shu having communicated with his lady friend and Pō having heard from Kuzmjir. The two joined Harthe for breakfast in the dining hall of The Grey Claw Inn. They discussed their plans. Pō told Harthe and Shu about their dreams over the past few nights and told them that he needs to sort things out with his patron but wasn't sure where or how to start or what to do. He asked their advice including asking them what they know about the god Orther. They were both unsure and suggested maybe they need to find a library or something. They all remembered the library in Lord Lugdon Nekovich's house so decided they would go see if they could go back in. Shu told them about his dream and how he needs to get back to the Vanime Forest in Vanimaldine in 14 days when the veil to his home will be the thinnest to allow for passage through. He told them that his love would be there waiting and also suggested that she might be able to help with Pō's problem. They packed up their rooms and bade Tomira farewell and headed to Lord Lugdon's house.   The party arrived back at the mansion to find the children playing outside. Jennivere Antovia told them that their parents were busy packing up the house so they were playing outside. Lucca Antovia asked them if they were there to take them back to Grechia. The venturers told them no as they had to go their own way, but were visiting to ask about the books. The children directed them inside.   Inside were boxes and crates and sacks full of items from the house. All sorts of labels adorned the parcels including 'to Grechia', 'to sell', and 'to throw out'. Harthe, Pō, and Shu wandered on to the library which they found to be in a state of disarray with a confused and flustered looking Bryson Antovia standing in the middle. He asked them if they were here to help with everything and escort them home but they declined and told him they wanted to see that everything was ok and requested to have a look at some of the books. Bryson informed them that most of the books were packed up ready to be sold, donated, or thrown away but they were welcome to have a look through the piles to see if they could find anything and buy it off him. They looked but Harthe got distracted chasing tangents of trivia trails, Shu got distracted learning about wolves, and Pō got a headache trying to read, a skill they had still not quite got the hang of. Having found nothing of serious note, Pō and Harthe cast detect magic and picked up on various magic items around the room. They bartered with Bryson to buy all of them, including a circlet, some leather armour, some boots, a long metal rod, a feather, and a hat. Shu also recognised a set of sending stones which he deftly pocketed while Bryson was distracted bartering with Pō and Harthe. They left with the magic items with Bryson feeling happy to have offloaded some 'junk' for some money, and the party feeling pleased they had likely bought some very expensive items for a steal from someone who did not recognise magic items, and left as fast as they could without raising suspicion.   Outside, the group met with the children again and wished them luck and farewelled them. Pō cast death ward on Jennivere telling her it would protect her. Shu gave Lucca his sickle and the child immediately excitedly started hacking at a nearby bush with it. Pō told Shu that giving children weapons was not a good idea and that someone might get hurt, including himself. Shu said the children needed to be able to protect themselves so Pō told Lucca to be careful with it and not hurt his sister.   They eventually left Tolyapol, heading north along the road to Maksary. Along the way, they encountered a wandering merchant with a large laden backpack full of equipment and wares to sell. He greeted them and asked them if they needed or wanted anything to buy. Shu bought four healer's kits off him and the others said they didn't need anything. He asked if they needed any tents to which they said no, but as he was settling his pack back onto his shoulders, Pō changed their mind and asked to buy a tent off him as they realised they no longer had Bain de Soleil's hut spell for shelter. The merchant sold Pō a tent and then headed along his way after informing them that he had not encountered any danger along the road this time, though there had been a lot more bandits around in recent times.   During their travels, the party took two rests along the way, having not been travelling in a few days and wanting to curiously inspect their new magic items. They each took time to inspect one item for each rest and discovered that they had obtained a headband of intellect, which Pō took and carefully played on their head so that their hairpiece of comprehend languages was not in the way. Pō was immediately overwhelmed by sudden revelations and epiphanies about many things and was rather distracted for the rest of the day and struggled to sleep that night as a result. They had also obtained some leather armour of necrotic resistance which Shu took and put on, winged boots which Harthe took and put on, an immovable rod which Shu took, a Quaal's feather bird token which Pō took and incorporated into their hairpiece of comprehend languages, and a hat of disguise which Harthe took.   As dusk hit, the party found a spot off the road to make camp and set up their tents and settled for the night with one each taking a turn to keep watch.
