Half-Elf

No race is more perplexing within Halruaal than the Half-elf.  The union of both human and elf is, depending on who you ask, either an example of how the two races could be united or a warning of everything that could go wrong by mixing the blood.  By in large, half-elves have become a much larger race within Halruaal.  Though it is not by union of elf and human, but more by pairing of other half-elves.  Cross-species relations have made it difficult for half-elves to move within the various

History

The first half-elves are the results interbreeding between humans and elves both before and during the War of Conflict with the elves.  Before the war, relationships between the two were not uncommon; though during the war and afterwards, populations of half-elves steadily grew.  This was especially true during the initial periods of elven enslavement.  After the initial period, half-elves began naturally reproducing among themselves due to human discrimination and elven shame.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Since the enslavement of elves by the Magisterium, there have been many instances of crimes against humanity. The worst of these crimes involve serious violation. Quite a few of the first half-elves brought into Halruaal were products of loving relationships. But there are many instances that this was not the case. After gaining freedom many city elves formed tightknit communities to protect themselves from further human aggression, unfortunately this act pushed out many half-elves. Seen as reminders of the crimes against their people, and shameful results of sexual violence, half-elves as a whole were shunned from the various elven alienages. Similarly, human shunned and discriminated half-elves for their elven heritage. Thus half-elves have, by and large, had to fend for themselves.
