City Elf - high Elf
Historically the city elves (once the High Elves) were enslaved by the humans of the Magisterium. Their culture was shattered, and their magical secrets stolen by the Wizards that oppressed them. Although the wood elves mostly escaped into the Keilden Forest, much of the elves now seen among Halruaalans were held captive in the larger cities by Nobles. Through exploitation and experimentation, the typical city elf has lost a large portion of their lifespan, living only twice as long as a human instead of several centuries.

History
In 300 AA, the elven nation that existed as native Halruaalans in the Keilden Forest engaged in a fifty year war with the human Magisterium. In the end, they lost. A majority of the elves were enslaved, their culture was shattered, and the once proud "high elves" became city elves. A portion of the wood elves escaped by disappearing into the Keilden Forest and avoided the fate of exploitation and experimentation by human Magisters. In 1650 AE, House Udaku enacted law that freed the city elves, but they have remained largely discriminated against.
