Elves
As a whole, the Elves of Halruaal are a declining race - on that have been historically oppressed since the founding of the Magisterium. Most are native to Halruaal in a similar way to the people under Clan Oni; though unlike the majority of the Humans in Clan Oni, their culture and people have been unable to fully integrate into the new society. Halruaalan elves exist all throughout Halruaal in the cities (the City elves), although in strong numbers in the Keilden Forest (the woodland elves), and under the Fimbulvetr Mountains (the Dark Elves).
Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves typically appear hauntingly beautiful to humans and members of many other races. They are slightly shorter than humans on average, more slender than humans, and host sharper features. Elves have no facial and little body hair.
Biological Traits
The following traits are available to Elf Characters:
- Ability Score Increases: your Dexterity score increases by 2
- Size: you are a medium creature
- Speed: your base speed is 30 ft.
- Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 60ft as if it were bright light, and darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in the darkness, only shade of grey.
- keen senses: You are proficient in the perception skill
- Fey Ancestry: you have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.
- Trance: Elves don't need to sleep. Instead they enter a meditative state called trance in which they gain the benefit of a long rest (8 hours of sleep)within 4 hours.
- Language: you can speak, read and write Common.
This is in addition to the specific traits for the three subraces which are attached to this page: the City Elves (originally the High Elves), the woodland elves (the wood elves), and the dark elves (the Drow).
Genetics and Reproduction
Having originally been the longest living species, elves also understandably have the longest gestation period. While physical reproduction is the same as humans, elves usually experience an easier (albeit longer) pregnancy duration.

Ecology and Habitats
Elves are spread out among the six regions of Halruaal, with the dark elves existing in the unknown seventh region - the Underdark of the Fimbulvetr Mountains. City elves have largely been regulated to the large cities, towns, and villages of the Magisterium. The woodland elves have survived by migrating within the boundaries of the Keilden Forest. Though migration between these three subraces happen seldom, it is not unknown to spot an elf in a location of which they usually don't travel to - save of course the dark elves (who many in the Magisterium are thought to be a myth).

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
As a whole, elves tend to be more perceptive than humans, boasting a wider range of visual and auditory capabilities. Despite centuries of slavery and magical experimentations, even city elves have not lost these advantages over humankind. Even still, elves in general are a deeply magical people. The gift of arcane magic seems to flow more easily to them - though much of their culture was shattered after the War of Conflict with the newly formed Magisterium. Now though magic comes easier to them, few in the Magisterium actually allow elves to take up the study of Wizardry. Those that do, primarily do it in an effort to create capable servants and bodyguards.

Looked down upon by humans, elves are frequently discriminated against. Thankfully this behavior is largely carried out by humans, and members of other non-human races often avoid engaging in this practice... save for the human favored race of the Dwarves.
