The Heartlands Region

All of the regions are crowned by the magnificence at the center of Halruaal. The Heartlands are the perfect assortment of nearly all environment types while saved from Halruaal's more aggressive effects of the spellplague.

The heartlands are a realm of rich mountains, fertile plains, pristine lakes, and populous jungles. Here, mundane and fantastic beast roam the countryside providing protection, sport, and hunting to those of House Udaku, the ruling House of Halruaal. While not as peaceful as the Dytika Isles or as rich as the Isle De'L'est, the heartlands are a safe region, blessed in abundance of natural resources, carefully harvested by a community that lives symbiotically with nature. The Mountains act as a natural barrier against the harsh, cold winds of the north, and the plains to the south moderate the heat emanating from the Necobi Desert. At the same time Lake Nilia serves as a massive source of fresh water and repository of fish.

House Udaku rules as the royalty of the Magocracy this region. The vast jungles, farmland, and ore rich mountains have secured their rulership, as have their skill with enchantment. Through their partnership with the trade federation known as the Congregation of Merchants, and the use of the Nauts for sea travel, House Udaku shares the wealth of the heartland. Many colleges and universities have sprung up next to their wizard academies and the resulting inspiration have drawn bards from across Halruaal. The influence of bardic songs and dance have driven culture and learning outward, cultivating hearts and mind within enchantment and wonder.
