Desmia
Desmia is the continent apart from the rest of the world. While it remains connected via tropical and island routes to the trade networks of Samvara, Sonev, and Suneka, inhospitable terrain means that large population movement has been difficult along these routes for most of history.
Culturally, this isolation has grown and protected one of the most uniquely martial cultures in the world. War was wracked this continent, and named it in the old language "Struggle".
The continent is climatically diverse- in the Northwest regions of Esken and Lusaya, one sees rolling golden hills and plains dotted with sporadic groves and forests; in the South, lush forests dotted with massive swamps and moors; in the North, sprawling forests with flat grassy plains. In the center of the North sits a completely unique biome- The Feywilds, a land both blessed and cursed by the Gods.
Geography
Continental Desmia is 2,400 miles long and 485 miles wide, with square mileage similar to India. The continent of Izekra to the South is 40 miles away at the closest point; the longest river (the heart of the Empire of Avana ) is 260 miles long. Three large mountain ranges reaching up to 8000 feet punctuate Desmia in the North, middle, and South. Large coral reefs line Desmia's South and Southwest coasts.
The Northwest tip is 990 miles from Siashi and 860 miles from Ayneva so transit to Samvara is increasingly accessible.
Island chains have made Stildane accessible to Desmian adventurers for centuries, though daring cartographers may discover that Northwest Boram is only 780 miles away from Northeast Desmia- making the direct journey possible.
