Traya
Traya is a land of dense forests, lush hills, and crystal lakes. Since time immemorial, Haltia and local humans have lived side-by-side in small settlements or migratory tribes. This is the Haltia homeland, once an isolated fortress kept from the world at large.
In the mid 300's, the first Desmians arrived. Traya's isolation gradually dropped away; trade entered. Once wars had ended, Haltia began to move into the world beyond. Towns and cities rose up from the lush forests and farmland devoured the valleys. As Traya became the center of trade between Boram (and therefore Stildane ) and Desmia, it was thrown out of being an isolated backwater. It became a warzone, trade hub, and a cosmopolitan kingdom no longer allowed to look perpetually inwards.
That said, many of the inland hills preserve the old ways- little Haltia and human hamlets content to keep to themselves.
Geography
Traya is 237 miles East-West at its widest point and 122 miles North-South at its tallest point. In the Southeast, the 42 square mile Lake Vito sits in the middle of a large arable valley. Two small mountain ranges cross the center of the island, creating a small grassy plain in the center. Forests blanket much of the rest of the island, including warmer, swampier forests in the Southwest.
Natural Resources
Large Adamantium deposits sit in the central mountains, providing Desmia's sole Adamantine supply until the 1900s. Lumber, tar, and food all can be found in the forests, and whales and fish alike are common in the surrounding oceans.
