The Fey Borderlands
In between the Feywilds and the rest of Desmia, there is a land belonging to no state or kingdom. It is a dangerous place, where banditry is common and dangerous predators hunt even humanoid prey. These are the borderlands, also known as 'No Man's Land' - though the latter name disguises the fact that actually, people do live here. In small villages, fortresses, and semi-nomadic bands, the people of the borderlands survive. it is a violent, difficult life, but it is a living.
Trading caravans regularly move through the borderlands, hopping from village to village. The line between merchant, raider, and bandit is essentially nonexistent here. While some villages "belong" to certain trading companies such as The Violet Company and the Dusk Travelers, independent merchants regularly raid other travelers and most groups regard each other as threats on sight.
Geography
Parts of the borderlands are grassy plains, others are rocky hills. Most of it is hilly forest.
Fauna & Flora
Feywilds fauna regularly wander or hunt in the Borderlands. Sometimes, the creatures are just slightly off but mostly ordinary; othertimes, these creatures have grown 'long' enough to pose serious threats even to hardened warriors. The interbreeding of Feywilds creatures with Ederstone-mutated creatures have increasingly allowed for younger creatures to hunt humanoids- not just the ancient ones.
