Izekra

Izekra is a continent roughly the size of Desmia and only 35 miles to its South. Many definitions of Desmia simply place Izekra as Desmia's Southern half, given their cultural intermingling. Izekra's Northern coast is religiously, commercially, and culturally part of the Desmian community- though its interior and Southern coastline are only recently entering the Desmian world. Near the equator, even that changes, as Izekra becomes more Sonevan and Ekrahti than Desmian.    Izekra may be Desmian, but it has its own history and cultural legacy that is worthy of acknowledgment. It is closely intertwined with the Land of Lothay to the West- an area that is part of the Samvaran-Sonevan landmass but is closer to Izekra in culture and politics.

Geography

Izekra is an equatorial continent roughly the size of India largely composed of four massive peninsulas splitting off from the main landmass. The majority of Izekra sits in the North hemisphere, with only a small Southern fringe past the equator.    The Northeastern peninsula is almost Desmian in climate- subtropical forests and arid plains climatically indistinguishable from Southern Desmia. Moving South, these subtropical forests become monsoon forests- arable jungle climates defined by seasonal weather patterns- along the Northern coast. The Southern coast is more traditionally dense jungle, turning into rainforest in the South. Patches of savanna sit in the internal valleys.   Lothay is difficult to define geographically, being more of a cultural conception of geography than a contained region. The straights of Azekra, separating Lothay from Izekra, are only 5 miles across
