Lionsguard

Keat was born in Lionsguard, the third child of a family of fur trappers operating in the frozen shore of Southern Baycotte. He entered his parents' trade, and rose to become one of the town's most talented frontiersmen, charting several new routes through the treacherous land around The Great Grinding.

Before his death in The Irogonie Aggression in 440KS, ser Jayver Stout had been in talks with Keat and several other Lionsguard residents about a possible venture to The Great Grinding. These plans were delayed by the war, and then the extinction of House Stout of The Icewater the following year before ser Jayver's daughter Lady Maedalyn could resume them.

Icehome

In 442KS Keat received a letter from ser Abagal Skinner, Castellan of The Icewater under House Stout, now serving House Teeze of the Icewater in the same capacity, suggesting he attend The Festival of the Stormwyrm in The City of Southbay to join ser Allon Southbay's expedition alongside Rila Stoneheart to establish Icehome, a foothold settlement on the North-Eastern point of the Great Grinding.

After several voyages back-and-forth between Southbay and the Great Grinding, Keat found a suitable site for the settlement and erected A Trappers' Lodge as the first base of operations for his crew. Keat took up the role of Mayor and has directed the development of the Hamlet since.
