Tsernoth is a necromancer and member of the Red Wizards of Thay.

Campaign Recap

On 17 Mirtul, Amethyst Mountainbender was traveling alone from Wave Echo Cave to Leilon when she discovered a group of 10-15 undead creatures being led by a Red Wizard riding a skeletal warhorse. She later learned that the leader of this group was Tsernoth.

Amethyst used her tracking abilities to follow the group, which also included a boneclaw. While the group traveled through the Sword Mountains to a an ancient dwarven stronghold named Axeholm, Amethyst overheard Tsernoth and the boneclaw talking and learned the following:

• They only had a few more locations to visit. They had been going to several ancient sites, digging up graveyards and battlefields and reviving the remains they found to add to their forces. Their other team was killed by adventurers at Dumathoin's Gulch.
• They considered their job, to create an undead army, to be almost complete. Once their "new ally" finished her mission to create a dracolich, they'll finally be ready to attack Leilon together to acquire the "Ruinstone."
• Hamun Kost was doing his part at Old Owl Well, leading a team and assembling more forces at that location. When they were all ready, Hamun would teleport their forces to Axeholm.
• Tsernoth explained how the vampire in Leilon learned new information that caused them to escalate their plans. They're now building up their forces as large as possible while their new ally figures out the dracolich situation.

Personal history

More than 100 years ago, Tsernoth made a trade with Agatha the banshee in the Neverwinter Wood. In the trade, Tsernoth acquired a spellbook that contained the trapped soul of a dragon from the Mere of Dead Men named Chardansearavitriol; the spellbook previously belonged to Bowgentle, a wizard agent for the Harpers.
