Deadland

Location

Deadland is located at the very north of eastern part of Wasteland of T@Ö#Å3. It borders on Haunted Forest and Graveyard in the north and Barren Land in the south. It stretches all the way from East T@Ö#Å3 to Ocean.

Though this district borders directly on East T@Ö#Å3, all of the actual settlements here are only so far, that no one really knows that they're even there. Well, apart form the people living there and traveling back to East T@Ö#Å3 to trade goods.

Climate

Climate here is as expected - just hot and dry and terrible. Rain may occasionally happen here, mostly during the rainy season, but don't count on it. The temperatures rarely get lower than 30°C, and can get up to 70°C in the hottest part of the year. These temperatures are brutal even by our world’s standards.

The only sun here is black sun, the hottest and darkest of all. You might see some golden sun in summer, but during the rainy seasons this is the darkest and most depressing part of the world. For about two months of the year black sun is the only visible sun here, lucky for people living here.

Nature

Haunted Forest, death flowers and blackbirds. That’s pretty much all of the nature you’ll find here. Well ok, people here do also keep some domesticated animals, mainly catbunnies and unicorns. And they do try to domesticate blackbirds, but that’s pretty hard to do. Probably like 10 lucky people in the whole region have them. But that’s besides the point. Some mousebirds might make it here from Haunted Forest and snakes and bugs are just as much of a problem as elsewhere in Wasteland.

Towns & People

Towns

The settlements here are small and cramped, built as a single maze-like building full of narrow streets and surrounded by thick stone walls. The only way in and out of this town is through its gates. Bigger settlements may have more gates, but smaller ones may only have one entrance. These towns are all built of dark stone with tall spiky roofs and small windows. They generally don’t use electricity, but they do have plumbing. Hopefully.

These towns look pretty small form the outside, but cam seem pretty cramped and densely populated on the inside, and so they can actually house quite a lot of people.

People

People here live by their own rules and aren't a part of normal society. They have this weird obsession with the ancient tales of vampires and they, as bat people, strongly relate to them. Nevermind that they are actually fruit bats who only like to drink their fancy fruity drinks. They like to live as people of the distant past would. WIth no electricity they prefer activities such as reading, writing, painting, different crafts, playing musical instruments and performing theater plays.

Their interaction with the rest of the world is minimal. They do need to import a lot of supplies they need to survive and they export mostly black wood and products made from it, such as furniture. There is a community of bat people living in East T@Ö#Å3 that helps these settlements greatly, but in general bat people prefer to stay hidden and mysterious, letting the rest of the world believe that they are real vampires. They are equally obsessed with all the strange and macabre stuff that often gets related to the ancient victorian era, which includes obsession with death. Of course, living so close to Haunted Forest and Graveyard leaves them no other choice.

With them being so far removed from the rest of the society, they don’t follow the same rules and religion as the rest of the world. Without any fairies, there aren't any Glitter God’s followers here either. They are more prone to become Satan’s priests and follow him, but many choose to worship the black sun itself - or Blung Sun, as it is called in this region’s dialect. Black Sun festival is the most popular and celebrated festival here.

Other than that, they are actually pretty wholesome and hard working people. They chop wood in Haunted Forest, take care of their animals, which include unicorns, catbunnies, black peacocks and black goatsheep (or geep for short), you know, the ones that have four horns and look like satan. They like to knit, sew, read, write, play board games, watch plays and similar wholesome activities.

Resources

There isn't much here in terms of resources, but what si there, it's luckily very valuable to the people in the west. People here are producing things such as darkwood made of dead trees in haunted forest; the bark of those trees may even be used to make tree bark leather. They also make use of death flowers to make various potions, many that can't be found outside of this region.

Because of that, people of this region actually make some pretty good moeny form their exports and are considered to be one of the wealthiest regions. Actually any region in Wasteland that even has an realy wealth to speak of.
