Catbunnies

Moles don’t often keep pets, it’s much more common to keep unicorns or peacocks or similar animals as working animals or for production of one or the other resource. But when they do keep pets the most popular, and also the cutest option, is a catbunny.

Appearance, Diet and Breeeds

Catbunnies are a hybrid of ancient species of cats and bunnies, and possess characteristics of both. Generally they look more bunny-like, with a cat-like face. They are approximately the size of the ancient cats as well.

Their diets consist mainly of carrots and other vegetables but they also enjoy nuts as a treat. Some have been known to eat people’s souls as well. To avoid this happening to you, you are well advised to feed them regularly and provide them their favorite treats.

They come in different varieties and breeds. The most common one is a black short-haired bunny. Another very popular choice are pink fluffy catbunnies, a mix of a catbunny and cotton candy. Don’t let those get too wet. A white variety of a fluffy catbunny is also commonly kept on catbunny farms for their fur that can be used to make soft wooly fabric and yarn.

The only remaining relatives of the species are snowbunnies that live in the Winter Forests of Mountains. These are very similar and closely related to the white fluffy catbunies.

Behavior and Special Abilities

Catbunnies tend to be quite intelligent and seem to possess telepathic abilities when it comes to communicating with their owners. Because of this, they are a perfect comfort pet, always there for cuddles and to listen and advise their owners when they encounter hardships. In pt.X, Edriel’s catbunny named Muffy also exhibited the ability to predict the future, though her powers were never officially confirmed. Only rare catbunnies have been known to exhibit such powers, so it isn’t a standard ability they all would possess.

They are generally well behaved and take care of themselves quite well, as long as there is fresh food and water available for them. They are also quite easily potty trained, and are clean animals. Same as their cat ancestors, they spend quite a lot of time cleaning themselves and grooming their furry coats.

They like to play and frolic outside, they like to play catch and run after birds and butterflies, but they will enjoy a board game just as well. They love a lot of attention and cuddles from their owners and show their enjoyment by purring. A catbunny’s purring is also beneficial to many ailmens and contributes to faster healing of injuries, so if you’re feeling a bit under the weather don’t be surprised if your catbunny cuddles up to you purring. Hugging a soft warm catbunny can also heal any kind of emotional distress, which is why a lot of times they are also kept as a therapy pet.

Catbunny Fur

As already mentioned, catbunnies are also highly valued for their fur. Catbunny farms are common in Å+*4~, but also in many areas of Fairy Gardens and sometimes West T@Ö#Å3 as well. On these farms they live freely among their catbunny friends and families. They are regularly brushed, and their soft and fluffy fur is used to make fine wooly yarn that can be used to produce a wide variety of products, from clothing to knitted crafts. Perhaps this is the reason why catbunny farms are one of the very few farms in West T@Ö#Å3 - in the cold climates of the areas near Mountains warms sweaters, hats, scarves and other knitted clothing are a very much welcome addition to one’s wardrobe.

Religious Importance

Besides being adorable and intelligent companions who provide warm fur, they are also Glitter God’s favorite animal and thus considered to be one of the holy animals. You’ll see ornaments and details featuring catbunnies in every Glitter Temple, and many also have golden catbunny statues. These are believed to be in honor of Glitter God’s personal pet catbunny, who is a golden catbunny himself.

Because of their intelligence and caring nature, they are considered a symbol of knowledge and mental wellbeing.
