Shadow Dragons

Shadow Dragons are infused with the very darkness of the Shadowfell, making them appear like living smoke and shadow.
The ancestors of Shadow Dragons may have formerly been dragons of other species, lost and transformed by the Shadowfell into a being of darkness and hatred.
Shadow dragons are almost exclusively malevolent, revelling in violence and suffering. They are also exceptionally aggressive, breathing a purple coloured necrotic flames that sap the life from everything it touches.

Appearance:

Shadow Dragons have black, gray or dark purple scales and vibrant purple eyes.
They are quadrupedal with large wings that rise from their backs and tend to be cloaked in shadow as black smoke ebbs from their form.

Element:

Shadow Dragons are associated with a purple necrotic flame which they can exhale as a deadly breath weapon.

Lair:

Shadow Dragons make their lairs in the Shadowfell, usually in mountainous caves or in ancient ruins. They enjoy collecting prisoners as well as any gold and gems they can get their claws on.
