Gravity Dragons

Gravity Dragons, sometimes called Amethyst Dragons, are one of the five species of Psionic Dragons (Gem Dragons).   Unlike other True Dragons, Psionic Dragons are omnivores that can sustain themselves on cosmic energy for long periods of time without needing to eat, allowing them to survive in the far reaches of the Astral Sea. They also have innate Psionic abilities and telepathy.   The Psionic Dragons are believed to embody cosmic forces, similarly to the Primordial deities. Gravity Dragons are believed to embody, as their name suggests, gravity and force.   Gravity Dragons are said to be curious and inquisitive, they are recorded as being found studying and questioning the fundamentals and origin of the universe. They are one of the more social dragon species, often enjoying conversing with other like-minded thinkers to share facts and come up with fun theories.

Appearance:

Gravity Dragons are quadrupedal with thin membranes for wings. They are quite bulky in shape with short limbs and highly dexterous fingers. Instead of scales their bodies are crystal-like, translucent and faceted, resembling the rich purple of amethyst crystals.   Gravity Dragons primarily use their wings for propulsion rather than flight, using their psionic powers to keep them afloat. A Gravity Dragon’s psionic powers are also apparent by the floating amethyst chunks that hover around their head and body.   Gravity Dragons begin their lives with a dull purple colouring and smooth bodies, gradually gaining their translucent colouring and hard, geometric bodies as they age.

Element:

Gravity Dragons possess psionic powers and can release a wave of gravitational force that cripples creatures caught in it.

Lair:

Gravity Dragons often prefer wandering the Astral Sea, rarely making lairs. They tend to prefer hoarding knowledge rather than material possessions, especially arcane knowledge or magic items, and are happy to trade knowledge with passing travellers.
