Mines of Arbron
Origins of the Mines
According to the historians and archaeologists of Viseria, the natural cave systems of the mountain were used for shelter during the dragon wars by the local peoples. However, in 24VD the Dwarf Arbron, having journied down to enter the Mage's guild of Viseria discovered the mining potential of the mountain and thus established the mines. The mines themselves are rich in gold and silver ore, as well as in gems that are valuable to the process of enchantment and magical forging. Situated to the East of the town of Arbraith and North East of Thrantium, the mines stretch down several hundred feet from the expanded original cave system. Through an innovative use of strip mining, Arbron was able to create one of the most lucrative mining operations within the kingdom of Viseria, though his critics claimed the mine owes most of its success to its fortuitous location. In Our Story
In our tale Vyth Aar, Knor Ti Knockarz and Larry Tinkle came to the mines on the orders of Sir Hama Bash, captain of the guards of Thrantium. Accompanying them were Jakaris, Zextra, Leona and Nile, the dragonborns, whom both the party and the paladin of Bahammut Yanis Grum hoped would become guards of Thrantium. The mines had been flooded with both water and insect-like beasts. Sir Hama requested that the group investigate the mines and attempt to remedy whatever was impeding its operation. Journeying through the network of caverns and tunnels, our group discovered that the whole mine had seemingly been flooded by a Nereid, Hypsile, who had escaped from the feywild through a door of Siara. Hypsile settled herself into the mines, but when the foreman, enchanted by her beauty, made unwanted advances, she flooded the entire mine. Fighting their way through the mines, our adventurers arrived at the edge of the pool where Hypsile had made her home. However, rather than engaging her in combat, Knor Ti befriended the Nereid, promising to find a new suitable place for her to live. After a confusing conversation, involving the innovative use of the term lesbian, the group parted with the hope of finding a new home for their new friend the Nereid Hypsile. Moreover, the conversation opened more avenues of investigation into the seemingly randomly opening portals, or doors of Siara, from the feywild and into the material plane. The group were able to report back to both Baron Arbron and Sir Hama as to the situation. As a result of their actions, the dragonborn who accompanied them gained the position of guards and several dragonborn were to be gainfully employed when the mine was reopened. The group later returned to the mines once they had found a suitable place for Hypsile's relocation, on Siren's Island. Gathering her, they transported her to the nearby coast and let her make her way to her new home. The mine was thus reopened.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
