Jakaris and company

Background and Role in Our Story

Jakaris, Zextra, Nile and Leona were the four dragonborn that Yanis Grum put forward to the bonk squad as the best candidates to be guards, once they had suggested to Sir Hama that he give the vacant guard posts to some of the dragonborn refugees. However, Sir Hama would only agree to try out the dragonborn if they proved themselves, and so Vyth, Knor Ti and Larry brought the dragonborn to the Mines of Arbron with them, on one of Sir Hama's tasks.
The group handled themselves well and Vyth was impressed, in particular with Jakaris, whom he struck up a friendship with based on mutual respect. Vyth also gave the group, again in particular Jakaris, hope for the future of Draconia and promise of a return to their shared homeland.
Later on, the dragonborns also accompanied the bonk squad to Specfall, where they helped free the town of troublesome pixies.
Now having proved themselves enough, Sir Hama Bash gave them a training trial, which they all passed with flying colours thanks to what they had learned from adventuring with the group. Having been accepted as guards of the city of Thrantium, the group were able to ensure the safety of the other dragonborn refugees and be visible examples of the dragonborn's virtues and positive presence within the community.
Once the fey's siege-stone attack on Thrantium began, the squad ran into Jakaris and Zextra, who were helping rescue people trapped by the fires and destruction of the siege-stone. The two dragonborn fighters joined the heroes and headed to Thrantos' Plaza with them, despite Jakaris already being quite badly hurt. Along with Sir Hama's forces, the bonk squad, Jakaris and Zextra attacked the Four Fingers who had set up there but Jakaris was killed in the fighting.
The day after the Battle of Thrantos' Plaza, where Jakaris was killed, the bonk squad were invited to attend a funeral that the dragonbonr refugees were hosting for Jakaris. Beforehand, the remaining three of the dragonborn recruits approached the squad, led by Zextra. Zextra communicated to Vyth  what he had done for Jakaris. Jakaris had been inspired by Vyth and as a result had begun to hope that one day, he would return home, led by Vyth to reclaim his shattered homeland. Now that Jakaris was unable to fulfil those dreams, Zextra, Leona and Nile decided to fulfil them for him by swearing their fealty to Vyth as the Knights of Jakaris:
“Jakaris believed in you, you gave him hope and a dream of redemption. We want to fight for Jakaris’ dream, now that he can’t fight for it himself. We swear our fealty to you, Sir Vyth. We will fight with you to free Draconia. We will help you to save our homeland when the time comes. We will stand by you, as the knights of Jakaris.”- Zextra, 20th Summersebb 683VD
