Yanis Grum

Background and Role in Our Story

Yanis Grum, a paladin of Bahammut, spent her days in the temple of clan Grum, healing the sick and seeking out occasional necromancers, undead and demons to fight. That was until the legions of Bel returned and began to lay waste to all of Draconia. Taking up her trusty mace, Yanis set about defending her home and her people but eventually they were horribly outnumbered. With what remained of her clan, as well as some neighbouring folk, she led a group of refugees to the nearest port. Fighting back a demon to let them escape, she lost her right arm in the fray. Despairing for Draconia and needing to protect the lives of their little ones, Yanis led her refugees across the Draconian Ocean to Thrantium.
In our tale, the bonk squad, upset by the treatment and state of the dragonborn refugees sought out Yanis in order to assist the down-trodden asylum seekers however they could. Yanis informed them that the dragonborn more than anything needed jobs, homes and work, as well as the opportunity to change how the local populace perceived them. The bonk squad set about helping as best they could, getting the dragonborn that Yanis selected as suitable onto the city guard with Sir Hama, convincing Greyanna Xilthin to take some dragonborn on as helpers in the dockside temple and securing several positions as miners in the Mines of Arbron for the refugees. From this, as well as a large donation from Jackob and Vyth Aar and the presence of the Aar brothers on the council as honorary members, the dragonborn's lot significantly improved.
After the death of Jakaris, Yanis thanked Vyth for all he had done and showed him how he had given hope to the dragonborn of returning home.
Despite her wounds, Yanis spends her days healing, leading the dragonborn refugees, praying in the temple and working to secure as good a life as she can for her people in Thrantium.

Appearance

Yanis Grum is a tall green dragonborn, with a powerful, muscled build from her active years of fighting. She is missing her right arm from the elbow down. Yanis has a kind face and soft features, with lines round her eyes from smiling.

Personality

Likes and Dislikes

Yanis is devoted to her god Bahammut and gains a great deal of satisfaction from helping people. She was a fan of martial weaponry and training but hasn't been able to do so since her wound.
Yanis dislikes unwarranted aggression and the plight of her people does not sit well with her at all.

Personality quirks

Yanis often hums while working and praying, the melodies from the hymns of the temple she grew up in giving her strength.
