Able to manipulate and reshape radiant energy present in their environment, including sunlight, solar plasma and ionizing radiation. Juniper instinctively pushes away and repels this energy in, essentially sunproof even after death. Most common in Idraren Draren.
❄️Iska's Skin
Can produce layers of ice from their bark and leaves and expand this around themselves into various shapes. They are also tolerant to extremely cold conditions and can cool their bark or leaves at will. Mostly used to coat themselves in a protective and insulative layer of ice. Most common in Rossiya and Frozen Wastes.
❄️Iska's Sleep
Can induce sleep, a hibernation, onto a target or themselves and slow their metabolism by cooling their body. This state has a regenerative, healing effect on the target despite the cooling. The sleep will automatically continue until the snow, ice or frigid temperatures subside, Juniper often sleeping through the harshest seasons in this manner.Most common in Rossiya and Frozen Wastes.
Azowyr's Aura
Able to generate or summon shadows from Azowyr's Plane. These usually take the form of an umbral mist or fog and is known to linger in its branches or about its trunk. Most common in the Tenebrous Chain (Terror Thicket, Lacuna Heath, Melancholy Mire and Umbral Silva).

Ranalis' Imprint
Can mark a number of living organisms and communicate with them telepathically. Can also sense the location of those marked. Used mainly by Junipers to communicate with each other and sometimes even other plants. They mark all those their extensive roots come into contact with. Most often found in Skaney.
Ranalis' Empathy
Can connect to the minds of all living things around them, experiencing their thoughts, emotions and memories. They can either skim the surface or delve further with effort. Can also link the minds of targets together and allow them access to each other's thoughts and emotions. They are unhindered by foreign languages, reading thoughts in their purest forms. Essentially telepathy and shared telepathy. Juniper use these to remain in contact with other plants and species and detect danger or ill weather. Really ancient specimens have even been known to act as peacekeepers within their forests and tundras between species! Most often found in Skaney.

Growing as a small evergreen tree or shrub, juniper is a member of the cypress family and is coniferous. It has one of the widest ranges of any woody plant in Emynea, especially in the northern hemisphere. There are many subspecies but all juniper will grow differently depending on its environment, some growing to around 33 ft (10 m) tall in forests while those in open areas creep along the ground as a shrub. They grow at high altitudes, usually at least 8,000 ft, and are found across mountain ranges in Emynea, especially in the Tenebrous Chain, Skaney, the Frozen Wastes and Rossiya. Juniper grows best in dry, open or rocky slopes and mountains, preferring dry, sandy soil as they don't need much water. If less favorable environments are free of competition, Juniper might grow in bogs, sub-alpine ridges and alpine tundra as long as the altitude is still high (around 10,000 ft).
There are three main variants known to the Kingdom of Accia, though its believed there are other variants yet to be discovered. These are the Eluzian, Alkelbulian and Arctic Juniper. Eluzian Juniper grows mainly in the mountains of Eluziar, in the Tenebrous Chain and Rossiya while Alkelbulian Juniper can be found in Idraren Draren, Sesli Plato, Skaney and Flumen Pontem. Finally, Arctic Juniper has the widest spread, found throughout the Frozen Wastes, in the higher altitudes of Skaney, Nordreyjar and into Mongol Uls and Dizhenbei Dong—anywhere both arctic and mountainous. White Eluzian and Alkelbulian variants grow to become small trees or shrubs, Arctic Juniper tends to grow prostrate, creeping along the ground as a needly shrub amid sprawling tundra if not totally buried in snow most of the year!

Uses
Because of their bitterness, juniper berries aren't usually eaten raw. They are instead dried and used to flavour meats, pickles, sauces and stuffings. Meanwhile, cones are used to flavour beers, gin and Ostmen sahti, a kind of ale common in Skaney. Berries are known to help both the digestive and urinary tracts despite their astringency, its berries or bark brewed as an herbal tea. It even possesses strong anti-fungal compounds. Outside of food or medicine, juniper are sometimes used as ornamental shrubs in gardens for both their appearance and their protective magic. Unfortunately, their wood is too narrow to be used as lumber. It can still be crafted into containors for dairy or as handles for utensils. The wood itself is very tough and dense and is known for its pleasant and enduring aroma. It's wood can be useful for crafting decorative items or burned as a kind of incense. Most commonly, sprigs of juniper are hung over entranceways or burned as inscense for their purifying magic properties or as simple protective charms. These small charms can be worn to ward of dark mental magic and chaos magic or even be used to repel electricity or radiation, depending on locality!
