Human

Humans are the most adaptable and ambitious people among the common races. They have widely varying tastes, morals, and customs in the many different lands where they have settled. When they settle, though, they stay: they build cities to last for the ages, and great kingdoms that can persist for long centuries. An individual Human might have a relatively short life span, but a Human nation or culture preserves traditions with origins far beyond the reach of any single Human’s memory. There is no typical Human. An individual can stand from 5 feet to a little over 6 feet tall and weigh from 125 to 250 pounds. Human skin shades range from nearly black to very pale, and hair colors from black to blond (curly, kinky, or straight males might sport facial hair that is sparse or thick.
 

Dwarf

Dwarves can live to be more than 400 years old, so the oldest living Dwarves often remember a very different world. Dwarves are solid and enduring like the mountains they love, weathering the passage of centuries with stoic endurance and little change. They respect the traditions of their clans, tracing their ancestry back to the founding of their most ancient strongholds in the youth of the world, and don’t abandon those traditions lightly, even after having to abandon those strongholds. Part of those traditions is devotion to the gods of the Dwarves, who uphold the dwarven ideals of industrious labor, skill in battle, and devotion to the forge.
 

Elf

Elves are a magical people of otherworldly grace, living in the world but not entirely part of it. They live in places of ethereal beauty, in the midst of ancient forests or in silvery spires glittering with faerie light, where soft music drifts through the air and gentle fragrances waft on the breeze. Elves love nature and magic, art and artistry, music and poetry, and the good things of the world. They are slightly shorter than Humans on average, ranging from well under 5 feet tall to just over 6 feet. They are more slender than Humans, weighing only 100 to 145 pounds. Males and females are about the same height, and males are only marginally heavier than females.
 

Half-Elf

Half-Elves tend to inherit the best personality traits of both sides of their ancestry, drawing on the ambition, curiosity and versatility for which Humans are famed, and the grace, beauty and love of art common to the Elves. Male Half-Elves are distinguished from their elven ancestors by the ability to grow facial hair. Half-Elves can inherit facial features and hair, eye and skin color of either parent, though it is common for them to inherit their eyes from the elven parent. They often live with Humans, though some are known to travel with the Elven Tribes.
 

Halfling

Halflings are an affable and cheerful people. They cherish the bonds of family and friendship as well as the comforts of hearth and home, harboring few dreams of gold or glory. Even adventurers among them usually venture into the world for reasons of community, friendship, wanderlust, or curiosity. Halflings tend to be a simple folk. They live in cooperative communities, and try and remain as self sufficient as possible. Halflings work readily with others, and they are loyal to their friends, whether Halfling or otherwise. They can display remarkable ferocity when their friends, families, or communities are threatened.
 

Gnome

As far as Gnomes are concerned, being alive is a wonderful thing, and they squeeze every ounce of enjoyment out of their three to five centuries of life. A Gnome’s personality is writ large in his or her appearance. A male Gnome’s beard, in contrast to his wild hair, is kept carefully trimmed but often styled into curious forks or neat points. A Gnome’s clothing, though usually made in modest earth tones, is elaborately decorated with embroidery, embossing, or gleaming jewels. Their homes are well hidden by both clever construction and simple illusions. Gnomes who settle in Human lands are commonly gem-cutters, engineers, sages, or tinkers. Some Human families retain Gnome tutors, ensuring that their pupils enjoy a mix of serious learning and delighted enjoyment. A Gnome might tutor several generations of a single Human family over the course of his or her long life.
 

Goliath

Goliaths are a Warrior race who were delivered to the world from a plane of endless battle. They place a premium on self-sufficiency and individual skill. They have a compulsion to keep score, counting their deeds and tallying their accomplishments to compare to others. Goliaths love to win, but they see defeat as a prod to improve their skills. For Goliaths, competition exists only when it is supported by a level playing field. Among Goliaths, any adult who can’t contribute to the tribe is expelled. A lone Goliath has little chance of survival, especially an older or weaker one. Goliaths have little pity for adults who can’t take care of themselves, though a sick or injured individual is treated, as a result of the Goliath concept of fair play.
 

Harengon

Harengon are humanoid rabbit-folk that originated in the Feywild. The Harengon are a mobile race with the ability to get out of a tight spot. While they make natural rogues, the strengths of this race fit well with any class. The Harengons in Eldridth today were born in our world, and live happily side by side the other races. Usually not in the cities, but often running or working on farms, or living in small villages. Their adventurous spirit often leads some of them into journeys beyond their birthplace, so often once a Harengon reaches the age of 10 or so they seek out a new life, and leave the home. This is often fine with the parents, as they often have several new children they are raising by then.
 

Satyr

Satyrs are true hedonists, they believe life is for living and rarely think ahead further than the next scrumptious morsel, tantalizing sensation, or exciting guffaw. Most Satyrs simply wander wherever their whims take them, following impulses and living off the land. When they congregate, it’s usually for a “revel”. Revels are parties, where Satyrs can spend weeks indulging in every sensation imaginable before finally settling down in the rubble. Not all Satyrs are entirely devoted to partying though. Some form druidic circles devoted to restoring and nurturing wildlife (especially fixing up after particularly ruinous rollicks). Some also become explorers, bards and storytellers. These adventurous Satyrs spread stories that expound their carefree philosophies as far as they can travel.
 

Verdan

Verdan are creatures of mystery and intrigue. Little is known about where they come from, or who they are as a race, and they are indeed rarer then any other race, even among Fea races. It is unlikely that most would more then get a passing glance at a Verdan then rightfully meet one. Verdan will be the first to strike up conversation with interesting looking folk though, and are often very friendly, and curious. They also have mild Telepathic abilities, which gives them an edge in spite of their often overly trusting and innocent nature.
 

Loxodon

Loxodon are a humanoidish race closely resembling elephants. They rarely leave their oasis communities scattered about the Southern Wastes, living long lives of strong tradition. A peaceful race, who generally speaking, seeks no more then what is needed for their community, believing greed to be a example of evil itself. It is rare to see a Loxodon outside of The Oryn Empire, but not impossible, as a rare example may attempt to settle a different zone. Many Loxodon still worship Rem, The Goddess of Peace, though some communities have adopted additional deities.
 

Tortle

Tortle's are a nomadic Turtle folk who live live most of their lives on land wandering the wilderness seeking to test themselves against the world's dangers and absorb its beauty. They have small sparse settlements along the northern coast, though only the elders and young congregate there.
 

Firbolg

Firbolg are half giant like creatures from the Fey, who enjoy peace in the wilderness, but are also known to use magic to try and fit in amongst small villages on the outskirts of civilization. Firblogs are fierce defenders of there communities and friends, but would much prefer peace and contemplation over any amount of violence when necessary.
