Racial Background

Tortles are a nomadic survivalist turtle like species. They born and grow up in small Tortle scattered sparsely settlements along the northern coast of Aygess, After reaching adulthood at about the age of 15, they set off to explore and search for new sights. They rarely set off with other Tortles, and are not seeking a new home, they are looking to see sights, enjoy nature and the wilderness, and find put their skills to the test. Though they do not travel as groups themselves, they do enjoy making friends. Tortle's tend to stay away from cities when they can, as being that far from nature for longer periods of time tends to bring them down.
At around the age of 40 Tortles will begin to work their way back towards the beach they were born, and upon arrival will settle down, and begin to raise children of their own, sharing stories of there adventures with the community. Finally, at around the age of 60 or 70 when their fertility begins to wane, they will swim into the ocean, and from what is understood, they will explore the oceans until they pass away around 80 or so.
Tortles form individual traditions and rituals, some taken from their parents, others learned on their own journeys. Tortles have many traditions, but rarely do these traditons match each other because of the varied lives that the Tortles lead.
