Queenhaven Settlement in Eldridth | World Anvil

Queenhaven

Town Name: Queenhaven
Population: 617 (Small Town)
A trade town, that's roads led to two different other nations, and another that leads to the small town of Wrinhum which while very far north, is the village that marks one end of the only safe trail through the Klendev Mountain Range.
Well defended, this town was established as a crossroads town long ago, but had fallen on hard times, in the beginning it was just called Crossroads. The Queen had received word that the town was steadily becoming a haven for thieves, ruffians, and highwaymen. And so she sent forth a troop of soldiers, and pacified the unruly town. Not only this, but funds began rolling in from the Crown, allowing them to bolster their economy, and repair the damages done. Eventually what was a small village has now grown into a actual town. Sitting at a fair 300 strong, and always home to many traveling traders, this allowed many traders to begin bartering their wares well before reaching the City of Thena, and began to form into a merchant city.
The Queen's most resent appointed mayor is one of her distant relatives, one Duke Breslin Howell. A family man, kind hearted but a bit of an agraphobic. All of the work of governing takes place within his Manor. His wife though, the Duchess Emily, can often be seen wondering the stalls of the market or socializing with town folks along the main street.
The town itself is diverse, even featuring a small fairy village. A wonderous place where many different peaceful creatures of the Fey live their lives side by side the peaceful village folk.

The Duke has appointed Francis Definhem as Captain of the Guard, and it was a well deserved appointment.
