Útelic
Útelic1 is a general term for the many dialects spoken by the Útels of Ela'k Forest in western Dragonía.
Writing System
Written Útelic uses a set of rectangular logograms, each representing a certain concept. Some symbols' meaning is fairly easy to figure out (honey is represented by a hexagon, hand by a stylized hand) while others are more abstract (two spirals represent water).
Compounds are written by connecting symbols with short lines (either two or three depending on regions). The poultry farmers' caste is thus written using the words for bird and caste.

Vocabulary
The majority of Útel vocabulary derives from the language of the Alalaríans, with different dialects containing words from other languages, especially those of the Jaarels, Ameders, ancient Móerkels and their descendants the Mörkels, and even a few from Óraxes via Móerkel traders.
