Kanot
Kanot is the second largest of the three Útel countries in Ela'k Forest, covering the area along the coast of Klalaþan Sea form the Bay of Þúl to the north to the edge of Þebel territory to the south. Kalot, the capital, is located near Qaþúlanz Falls where the river Óf ends its journey to the sea, and is a major religious site for the Útels. Many Útels believe that ones urn must be cast down into the falls in order to enter a peaceful afterlife, so pilgrims from all over the forest and (and beyond) visit Kanot every year to honour their ancestors in such way.
The people of Kanot tend to be more religious than other Útels, with greater focus on public display of piety than more personal worship. Culture heroes such as Ela'k, Zynai and the founders of various castes have their own special public shrines, resembling gazebos, along the coast or banks of the Óf.
