Kalot

Kalot is the capital and largest city of Kanot, located on the southern bank of the river Óf, in the northern part of the country. The city is also a major religious center for the Útels, as its near Qaþúlanz Falls where people cast down urns so that their ancestors can enter a peaceful afterlife.

Demographics

Most inhabitants belong to the Kalotic tribe, along with some Þandans and a few Veans, but Útels from all over Ela'k Forest visit the city every day.

Architecture

Kalot's architecture differs somewhat from the common Útel style in that stone is used more frequently than elsewhere, especially cobblestone for streets.

Geography

The city is located a short distance from Qaþúlanz Falls and the Bay of Þúl, both of which are a sight to see even for Útels native to Kanot. The cliffs also provide a good view of the numerous isles in the bay, whose shores are covered with a layer of ashes and strewn with pottery fragments, the results of throwing urns down the falls for millennia.
