Lakóp

Lakóp is a village in central Kanot, one of the three countries of the Útels, located by the south bank of Vúðúk River roughly midway between the settlements of Núðal to the southwest, Þilú downriver to the northwest and Atóal upriver to the east.
Although now little more than a place to rest as far as most travelers are concerned, Lakóp once functioned as capital of Gavón, one of the last city-states of the ancient Alalaríans, ancestors of the Útels and Jaarels alike. The Gavóns were related to the neighbouring Veans across the Þán River to the west, though unlike the latter, they've since disappeared as a distinct culture for the most part due to millennia of heavy influence from Kalotics, the dominant tribe of Kanot.
The few fragments left of the original traditions are a few Alalaric words and phrases used by members the hunters'-, healers'- and carpenters' castes for local flora, and the custom of putting oak leaves into urns before they are sealed.
Like many other inhabitants of Kanot, the Lakópics emphasize the worship of the culture hero Ela'k over founders of different castes and even their own ancestors, and a quite a few villagers adhere to the Cult of Zerrhúai.
