Móerkelic
Móerkelic1 was spoken by the ancient Móerkels, descendants of Útels who settled on the Plain of Spirits and founded their own civilization there, and later became ancestors of the Mörkels and Þrihaks.
Móerkelic evolved from a mixture of different Útel dialects spoken in Malónat and -to lesser extend- Kaiqonon, and formed a dialect continuum with those to the east being most divergent.

Writing System
The Móerkels wrote using a syllabary of rectangular symbols, which was virtually identical to that of the Útels. The main writing implements were reed pens to write on papyrus -or more rarely, imported antelope parchment- and wooden- or metal stylus to etch on wax- or clay tablets.
Geographical Distribution
Móerkelic was primarily spoken in their state as well as in northern Ela'k Forest and the land of the Brariians during their short time as subjects of the Móerkels.
Vocabulary
Most words in Mórkelic were of Útelic origin, though later it acquired quite a few words from Órax merchants from the south.
1Original icelandic: móerkelska.
