Medical Academy

Admissions

Children are chosen to enter the school based upon their interests and their demonstrated skill sets. They are allowed to take the entrance exam at age 10. There is no age limit to how old a person can be when the enter the academy, but most students begin their education process by the time they are 12. Generally, the parents are required to pay for the child's education. However, there are a few gifted children that are given scholarships by the school.

Family Tradition

Since there is an expectation that the school will only accept the children with the highest potential, many of The Doctors  will home school their children in an effort to prepare them for the entrance exam. This has created a tradition of the Doctors raising their children with their education as a primary goal. Because of this, there are several families with in Camp Hope that have become known as Medical families.

Purpose / Function

This school is where Doctors are taught the skills that are required for providing medical care and performing medical research. They are brought into the school while young. They are first taught the basics such as reading and writing. Then they are taught the medical knowledge they will need to serve Hope Hospital.

History

With the founding of Camp Hope there was an immediate need to have a formal education system to provide Doctors. This was one of the first institutions established within the camp.

As you step into the lab, the air is thick with the sterile tang of disinfectant and the faint, metallic scent of formaldehyde. The room is dimly lit except for a single overhead light focused on a central workstation. Beneath it, a student stands, their black and gold uniform immaculate, the golden accents glinting under the light. Their gloved hands work methodically, wielding a scalpel with precision as they dissect the specimen laid out before them. The rhythmic snip of surgical scissors and the faint rustle of their movements fill the otherwise quiet room. A clipboard sits beside them, filled with meticulous notes in elegant handwriting. Their eyes, calm and focused, glance up briefly as they notice your arrival, the mask covering the lower half of their face making their expression unreadable. The air is heavy with concentration, and for a moment, you feel as though you’ve intruded on a sacred act of study and mastery.
