Proxima Centauri b

The Fool: "Oh but Dr Jimothy Proxima Centauri b can't host any life it has a minimum mass of 1.27 Earths, is constantly getting hit by stellar wind, probably isn't made of the right materials and is orbiting a red dwarf and so must be tidally locked!"

Me: *pushes glasses up on nose, which flash as they shortly reflect some light* "Oh, foolish baka, it can totally hold life! 1.27 Earth masses isn't anywhere near too much for life to be possible, the stellar wind increase really just means extra radiation which doesn't necessarily kill all life - just makes it more prone to mutation, we have no idea what it's made of and it orbiting a red dwarf doesn't necessarily mean it's tidally locked - which itself would just mean that MOST rather than ALL of the planet is uninhabitable anyway - just that it's got higher odds of it."

Fool: *dies while making 13-year-old-anime-girl orgasm sounds*

Yeah this combines pretty well with Planet Loki for NOT spalunking some life here to be an opportunity lost.

Geography

Rather than being spoken of in terms of North and South Pole, this planet gets spoken of in Day and Night Pole - because it turns out that in the world of the CHG this planet is tidally locked. Yikes. And the planet consists quite largely of water. ANNNNND AWAY WE GO:

The edges of the Day Pole's circle (basically 1/6 of the area being non-consentually caressed by the sun at any time) and inwards are mostly dry because the water that is constantly flowing in is constantly being evaporated. This vapour then moves around to the other side of the planet, pushed along by those stellar winds and the massive air pressure differences, and then condenses somewhere on the cold side to flow towards the other side of the planet again.

This flow of water results in the habitable ring of this planet being far larger than it normally would be as cold water is flowing into the hot side and hot vapour is flowing into the cold side. There's tonnes of marine life in this area.

Fauna & Flora

Fungi hold mastery over the darkness of the Night Side while plants rule the Day Side as they bask in the sunlight. The cold-blooded prefer the Day Side for its extra warmth while the cold-blooded bravely venture into the Night Side for tasty protein-rich shrooms (there are both in both places but there's a clear difference in population proportions between hot and cold blooded depending on which side you're on). There are islands but the air above the oceans isn't yet breathable for anything larger than a cat - with the fungi being largely responsible for slowing that step forward down so much - and so they're used largely by crustaceans, egg-laying smol otter thingies, amphibians and so on on the Day Side as places to go to get away from the larger predators of the waters and produce young. Oceans are salt-free and extremely deep, with a lot of the islands actually being floating rocks (if they've got air in them) or the carcasses/collections of carcasses of thicc boi creatures.

Natural Resources

That's a lot of water you got there, planet. It'd be a shame if someone were to be suffering water shortages because they're of a species that needs lots of water but they just took over and colonized planets terraformed for another species that needs far less water. Yeah this actually happened when Mostly Hairless Monkeys Without Tails (Humans) decided to just take tonnes of water from this here planet and store it on their other planets, as well as taking ice from icy worlds, after they defeated the Goners (3-4 foot tall lizard/velociraptor people) with the Goner remover 9000 during the The entirety of the human-Goner war and other fun stuff happened. Overall the planet suffered relatively few extinctions as sea levels didn't decrease that much but still humanity you thirsty.
