The History of Belthuran so far

The Ozari, the founders of what is today Rhyderia they were a society of humans, half-elf, and sylvan with a focus on personal honor. They left many structures behind though nearly all of them are riddled with mystery. They were made famous by riding Thunderbirds, griffins, and hippogriffs into battle when needed.   The Ancient Dwarves, the ancient dwarves were once followers of The Sunderer a time they would prefer forgotten when they would only wage war on each other and destroy what the others built. Some of their vaults and strongholds still exist, bearing a strange method of channeling magic not unlike how electricity is used.   The Draz Tyran, the ancient empire of the dragons may be rebuilding now but so much of their power and history was lost to time when they were all but eradicated. Their ruins now rest undisturbed across the continent holding secrets to their former glory and knowledge long thought lost.

Current Species & Cultures

Humans are one of the most numerous species in the world, on Savorah they come from one of four lines, Arcessan, Ormirian, Rhyderian, and Ursandian. Arcessans live in the southern part of the continent in the Mageocracy of Arcessa. Those who are Ormirian come from The Merchant states of Ormir a land dedicated to the pursuit of wealth and power above anything else. Rhyderia the inheritors of the Ozari believe in personal and familial honor striving to always do good where they can. Ursandians are a tough lot from a frozen hellscape of a land, subjected to terrors both mundane and supernatural daily they survive against the worst of nature daily.   The Dwarves of Hammerock are as you might expect trustworthy, stalwart, and stuck in their ways. Their culture and families are every bit as important as their beards are to them. Long have they resented the Draz Tyran and in particular the Anrasha elves they have warmed up to the humans of Rhyderia and those of the Beast Races escaping the Anrasha.   The Beast Races is a blanket term to refer to any and all species of animalistic people including but not limited to catfolk, centaurs, minotaurs, kitsune, and gnolls. Originally very peaceful inhabitants of the islands south of Mol'Amoroth they fell victim to the cruelty of the Anrasha and those that could fled finding shelter among the Dwarves of Hammerock.   The Elves, there are three groups of elves though all originated with the original fey spirits that came to the world the Meldarii, this group of elves became the Anrasha and when a schism among the elves happened this created two more kinds of elf. The Anrasha or tide touched, are without a doubt a cruel people but there is more depth to them than most would think to give them credit for. The Falsoree or light/sun elves depending on who you ask are disciplined and rigid with a strong focus on healing magics and knowledge they define themselves by being as unlike the Anrasha as they can. The Woldari or spirit elves chose to isolate themselves in Ursand and focus on their own growth trying to determine who they are without defining themselves against the other elves.   The Halflings have been dealt a bad hand having been caught in the way of warring giants, they prefer simpler things, enjoying farming and crafts. While most of their number reside in Halfhill some have begun to explore the continent more and more.   The Sundorag the faction of Orcs, trolls, giants, ogres, and goblins held together by force by the strongest of orcs this very loose coalition serves the whims of The Sunderer and bring death and destruction down from the Dragon-Teeth Mountains every so many years when their numbers have grown again.   Draz Tyran the dragon empire has a new Tyrannus but their numbers are only just above sustainable levels combined with how long it takes for a dragon to mature they are a long way from recapturing their former glory as the most powerful empire. They should absolutely not be trifled with for each member that survived the dark age of their empire is ancient and powerful beyond most comprehension. So few are their numbers that most humans think they might have just been myths or all were slain. The longer-lived species know the truth of the matter and some fear that they are growing stronger not just for their own protection. The symbiotic species of kobolds that makes up the many times larger population remains strong, spared the devastation of the rest of the empire by one of the last acts of the previous Tyrannus. They are stewards of much-forgotten knowledge and magical arts slow to trust Outsiders they have a strong sense of community and when they make friends they are treated like family.
