There are many healers around Aurin. Most of them work down in Chegva or at Wenekadi. But like every other profession, they need some form of education. In Aurin most of the healers have an education from one of the schools around Aurin or some of them. The schools are Felvale, Chaddo and Uraelity. Merana - School for knights and soldiers teach some basic healing but not enough to work at a monastery.
At The Magic Council's school Felvale, you study first and foremost to become a Guardian. But through the different degrees, you can also become a healer. Not many students at Felvale choose that degree or path because the school is a magic school. The students that want to become healers usually do not study at Felvale. Most people around Aurin who becomes healers studied at Chaddo or Uraelity.
Healers around Aurin usually works at Chegva or Wenekadi. It is a highly demanding job, especially in smaller towns, cities, and villages. Most healers that studied at Chaddo usually end up all around Aurin. But the healers that graduated from Felvale or Uraelity usually stay at Wenekadi their whole life. Even though every city, town and village needs a healer not many of them have one. That is why the healers that graduate from Chaddo are so important to these people.
The hours and salary vary from country to city to monastery. Most healers have dedicated their lives to work in this field. It is all most of them do. Some healers travel around Aurin to find new herbs and plants to experiment with to find new potions and healing methods. Others travel around Aurin and study every healing method they can find. Some healers publish books for educational purposes. Some even become teachers. One thing healers have in common is that they love learning about different and new healing methods. They love to learn from each other.
Healers are also bilingual. They need that in their field of work. Especially if they travel around Aurin as healers. The students from Felvale and Uraelity have an advantage in that area. Most students from Chaddo only know the Jahix languages. Some of them learn at least one more language. But they are very few. But not all healers need to work at a monastery or travel around as healers. Some do not even need to work in a village, small town or city. Portal Guardians from The Magic Council also work as healers. They need to be prepared for anything in their field of work. Therefore they also have a degree in healing. Portal Guardians also speak more than two languages.
Some of the most famous healers through the ages is the Evenbane Family. It was Yjali Evenbane who founded Ilrnys first monastery Wenekadi in the year 109 E.M. (After Magic). Some other famous healers through the ages are some of the Regos family. The most famous one out of the family was Pio Rego. Pio later became one of the teachers in healing at Chaddo the school of the orcs.
Vanessa Hayes is one of the few melend (magicians) who later in her life became one of the most famous healers in potions. She created new technics in potion-making that made it easier to develop new potions and better potions for healing purposes. Some earth magicians became famous healers using magic. One of them was Audrey Saville. She was the first person outside of the Jahix Culture to become a healer at the Chegva monastery.
Another one was Ian Rivers. He was the first to use River Leaf for potions and healing. One other famous healer through the ages is the author, Jade Moor. Some of her books are still used today for educational purposes in healing around Aurin.
