Michael's Report, 2022-10-30
General Summary
Our last session picked up after handing Otto Steeltoes over to the Brightridge City Watch, and receiving information about quests from The Virtuous Gauntlet and from Emerald Autumn.
Before going to see Jackie de Mowbray, we identified the magical painting we took from the Firelight poor house, and learned that we can use it for our own purposes as a surveillance system for The Friendly Ghost.
We then met with Jackie to confront him about the murderous misdeeds of one of his crew. We learned that the murderer, Elegnos, is the brother of an undercover spy named Gnarl that has managed to infiltrate the Zonthosh Guild - and that spy is in danger of being discovered, and in need of extraction. As Elegnos is Gnarl's magical point of contact, Jackie cannot dispose of Elegnos until Gnarl is extracted. The party agreed to take on this extraction mission. We don't have many leads on this, except that Zonthosh allegedly has hidden locations in the Raven Docks and in the Castle Ward, as well as a personal interest in staging and watching gladiatorial fights.
While on the ship, we also ascertained that there were no intellect devourers present. Wash did some spying in Jackie's office and learned that he has a particular interest in an island in the far south of Sintria, possibly relating to the word "retirement." Before we left the ship, Wash gave Jackie an earful about his choice to dump a prisoner in our basement with no warning or agreement.
The next day, we went to help out the Dungsweepers' Guild in the Raven Docks. We learned that their story about being attacked was false, but that they were receiving notes telling them to stay out of the trash that made them afraid they were being threatened and in danger. It turned out that one of their number had been replaced by an Intellect Devourer, and this likely had something to do with their plight. We opted not to harvest the Intellect Devourer's parts, and instead handed it over intact to Savra Drake, and did what we could to calm the surviving Dungsweepers. Wash gave some coin for them to help the family of the man that had been killed by the Devourer.
As we were wrapping up there, we heard screams and ran to find a trio of Carrion Crawlers poised to attack two commoners in an alley.
Winning that fight brings us up to the present. It is still morning, before 10AM on the 9th of Reaping, as we deal with the aftermath of the Carrion Crawler fight. He have the scene of the fight to investigate, and a package to deliver to Cedany Rowntree, with a strong recommendation from Savra that now would be a good time to deliver it.

Has had difficulties communicating with the serpents, mostly only communicates to Elegnos
Gnarl is under suspicion by the Zonthosh, and is constantly under watch by a Grell.

Cornered the intellect devourer to deal with it
Vathash forced it out in an alley
Party put it to sleep and killed it
Convinced the dung sweepers that they need to remain quiet about this, and that we weren't to blame
Summoned Savra Drake
Gave her the intact body of the Devourer
She brought us the package for Cedany and strongly suggested we should deliver it now
Xev tried to make contact with the changelings

Finish up with the dungsweeper situation
Heard screams and ran to an alley to find carrion crawlers
Faught and killed three Carrion Crawlers in the alley. Wash was paralyzed in the fight, but recovered without injury.
Two civilians fled from the fight
