The Great Conquering

This revolution was literally revolutionary, and is an important part of Arburg's history. It happened in the Minus Years, which are the years before Arburg came to be, and also the years before time was counted like it is today. The current year reflects the years that Arburg has existed. Before the monarchy of Arburg was created, the land was split into different, hostile regions and settlements. King Harold I's father, Joseph the Conqueror, as he is now known, came from a large region that was centered around where Eflaria now is. At that point, the country was in a political vacuum, with no one really ruling the overall nation. Some parts in the far East and North had formed their own countries, after hearing that nations across the Great Sea had done that, and they formed their own governents. Joseph the Conqueror decided that something had to be done, and he gathered the largest military force that he could from his region, and he moved the troops in a North-West direction, and set about to conquering the different settlements, none of which were very developped. The few that put up much of a fight were driven out into the wilderness. After a while, they decided to turn to the South, but Joseph was killed in the first battle, leaving his son to continue his legacy. Harold decided to stop the fighting and create a peaceful monarchy which would unite the conquered settlements. Most of the conquered people centered around two areas to build what is now Eflaria and Asmye (Port). Harold crowned himself King and set the borders of Arburg to go through the Misty Mountains, cutting off the Northern tip of the Wandering Woods, and claiming much of the South-Western coast as Arburg's.
