Neska
Neska is a village built along the upper course of the Ashdare River. Neskians are peaceful folk, and their villages specialise in pastoral farming.
Government
So far, the Neska family takes the leadership tole of the village. They current head calls village meetings, and finalises decisions. He also brings concerns to the Arburgian Government. No on e knows who will become the leader, should the Neska family bloodline suddenly end.
Industry & Trade
They export all sorts of cattle and animals, and also milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt, meat and other animal products. They export it by boat to Pleosal and Eflaria, and by carts to other villages. They actually export some of their goods to Atra directly. This exchange is monthly and happens strictly in secret, in the Misty Mountains. Both towns send two represantatives to meet up, and they exchange oil and other Atrian resources for Neskian goods. They are the only settlement in Arburg to exchange this way.
History
Neska was actually formed by a family that emigrated from Pleosal . They wanted to introduce pastoral farming into Pleosal's industry, but the leaders decided against it, saying that it wasn't in Pleosal's best interests. This caused a huge disagreement, so the family (whose surname was Neska) left and formed their very own settlement and named it after their family. Over time, it flourished, and some people noticed. In response, there were some immigrants, resulting in its growth.
Architecture
They live in wooden huts and houses., and the dwellings are pretty standard as Arburgian buildings go.
Geography
It is built along the Ashdare River, in the north east of Arburg, and are pretty near the Misty Mountains. It is actually in a relatively arid area, which works for cattle ranching- a big part of their industry. It gets a little greener towards the river, but water can get scarce, especially in Zithust (see Seasons ). When it was first being developed, the head of the Neska family refused to accept imports from Pleosal , so life was a little tough at first. When he died, his successor decided to open an official trade route, and this helped put their differences aside. That was when Neska finally became stable.
