Lake Helena

This is by far the largest lake in Arburg, and it is Pleosal's main water source. It was named by King Harold I, after his beloved wife Helena. He honoured her later in many other ways, from naming a month after her to building a magnificent orchard and palace for her. (see The Royal Palace and The palace orchard) Pleosal was built along the North Western banks of the lake, and both Neska and Eflaria reside relatively closely to it. It is fed by the Ashdare River, which flows southwards into the Great Ocean. The lake is very deep in the middle, and its banks are quite steep.
"And here, your Highness, we drive past Lake Helena. It was named by our first king, may he rest in peace. He actually named it after his wife, with whom he was quite taken. Her name was Helena." William had the urge to roll his eyes. You don't say? Besides, all this information was nothing new to him. He suppressed a sarcastic comment. Hid guide continued, "It sustains the town of Pleosal, our biggest crop exporter, as you may know." Of course he did. "Without this lake, we would not be so rich in crops, trust me. Despite it being crystal clear, I would advise against swimming in it; its depths are rumoured to hold mysterious and dark creatures." At this, William's interest was piqued. Now this he had not heard before. "What do you mean, creatures?" "Well, there have been numerous reports of never-before-seen creatures being sighted near or in the Lake. However, none of them have had enough evidence to prove correct, and the details of the sighting vary greatly and are often incredibly vague. Don't worry, your Highness, they are probably just rumours started by the Pleosalians to keep us away from their crops and "their" lake. You know, they are quite defensive over it, especially after the gross pollution of the Ashdare River. I suppose they've seen the effect it had on the Delta. Technically, though, there is no real justification over their defensiveness. "On the Western banks, you will find some small forests, and..." William tuned out again. Not much new learning going on, after all.

Geography

On the Western and Northern banks, there are many trees. To the South, Eflaria lies a little further down the Ashdare River, and Neska is to the North.
