The Royal Palace
Well, it's extremely... flamboyant! My friend Allie loves it.
Can you believe it?!?! There's like, stained-glass-windows and mahogany spirally stairs and everything!
Oh, it's really not that great. At the end of the day, well, it's just a big old house that has to be cleaned and dusted. The best thing about it is the orchard.
Welcome to the royal palace, my dear. If you follow those stairs up to the first floor and take the first two left turns, yours is the third door on the right.
My favourite thing to do is run through the endless corridors pretending I'm a horse or a dragon or a noble knight or a princess or something. It's quite fun, really. You should try it some time!
Purpose / Function
The royal family has lived there for about as long as Arburg has been in existence. It is the fanciest and grandest building in the whole country. It serves as a tourist attraction, living quarters, and many ceremonies and parties take place there. The two most important ceremonies that take place there are the Royal Wedding and the Coronation.
Alterations
The West Wing was added in 136, by King Jacob.
Architecture
The outside is in a Victorian style, but the inside is more like a Baroque style. There are many high-ceilinged halls with arches and painted ceilings. The staricases that give acces all the way to the second floor are made of mahogany, imported from across the ocean. The walls and arches are emroidered with delicate gold reaching all the way up to the top of the rooms.
History
Kinng Harold I began construction in 1, and the royal family was only able to move in in 12. The kingdom spared no expense, and the regal building still stands strong today because of it. Ownership of it is given to the current King, although the Elders can veto big decisions that they think would endanger its future.
